The Counter-Revolution of 1776:Slave Resistance and the Origins of the United States of America.
As the United States of America, celebrate its independence anniversary declared on 4th July, 1776, we take a look at the history of America, the events that led to declaration of independence, and most importantly why declaration of independence was not a cause for celebration among all Americans, particularly for the native Americans and the enslaved African Americans. “For Native Americans, it may be a bitter reminder of colonialism, which brought fatal diseases, cultural hegemony and genocide. Neither did the new republic’s promise of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” extend to African Americans. The colonists who declared their freedom from England did not share their newly founded liberation with the millions of Africans they had captured and forced into slavery.”
The so-called Revolution was according to Professor Gerald Horne, was a ‘Counter-Revolution’ a conservative effort by American colonists to protect their system of slavery. Contrary to anonymous role often assign to African Americans in the American Revolution (which Prof. Gerald Horne refer to as Counter-Revolution) the prof. lucidly outline their roles and their major impact. The book is a great shift in paradgim.
Professor Gerald Horne, is the author of the book “The Counter-Revolution of 1776: Slave Resistance and the Origin of the United States of America.”

Can someome help me with Matrix? Every time I go to try to get an account, it says I need a client, so I get client but can’t make an account on it.
That one Kamala ad that implicitly accused Republican voters of abusing their wives did go kinda hard despite the classist undertones
Shit sorry @tocopherol@hexbear.net, I forgot to reply. Yeah we also get lots of the “I’ve been day drinking and want to shout about muh country and/or slurs”-types, but auditors’ “thing” is that they’re always livestreaming. They’re fash-aligned. You sometimes see them with multiple phones and a GoPro on a fancy gimble but some of them just use a plain phone. Some of them are silent, others will be doing commentary and occasionally shouting stuff to bait protestors. I’d like to think that their tendency to wear all black and often cover their faces is because they’re ashamed or worried about getting doxxed, but that’s probably wishful thinking.
Thanks for the reply though. Good that you don’t have them but I’m just a bit curious really to see if they’ve spread anywhere else.
Went into the bathroom my roommates share for the first time in a while to grab cleaning supplies to clean my bathroom and 🤢 shit’s nasty. And stuff I thought for sure was in there wasn’t even there so I guess we’re out so my cleaning plans are foiled too.

Don’t look up his views on race.
oof
I’m officially a teamster!
I technically was already a member but since I made it 30 working days without getting fired I have seniority and the full protection of our contract.
I really had to work for it, my manager at UPS is a dick. He gives every new person insane workloads to see if you’ll put up with it. I get that they want to make sure you can do the job before they’re stuck with you, but he could ease people into it instead of having you load 1000 packages in 4 hours on day 2. Since I started 2 other new people quit and 1 got fired for telling him off.
It’ll be a lot easier now. My body has adapted to the workload and I can’t get fired for working slower.
This is something I’m curious about. I live in central Florida, US. Otherwise known as hell. There’s not much union activity here, as they’ve worked really hard to keep them out. It looks like the Teamsters do have a bit of a presence at the ports.
Does anyone with knowledge on the subject know if there’s any point to looking into it? I’m a grocery merchandiser. I drive around and put beer on shelves.
To be honest I don’t think there would be much point. It’d just paint a target on my back to be the only union person. I’m trying to get promoted so I can stop breaking my back every day, so I’m not trying to get that kind of attention right now. But maybe once I’m established and made myself a little more irreplaceable.
I’d love some info either way. I’ve never been in a union and don’t know much about them Just that it’s, on the whole, a good idea to be part of a union. I think us here in Florida are just fucked. Here you have the “right to work” yourself to death and your employer has the right to tell you to fuck yourself “at-will”.
The only way I know of to join teamsters is to get hired at a business that is unionized with the teamsters or start your own union and choose the teamsters to represent you.
UPS is the biggest employer within teamsters and the easiest to get hired at, but it definitely isn’t for everyone. You have to do hard part time work until you have enough seniority to win a full time bid. How long that is varies greatly from local to local. Part timers got a big raise in the last contract, but in high cost of living areas it’s still pretty low pay. Great benefits for part time work, though. You pay nothing for health, vision and dental insurance, very low copays and a pension. And once you win a full time bid you can make really good money for unskilled labor.
This happened and now I have to think and work and stuff

I kinda love when my coworkers im not friends with rant about work to me because I usually don’t feel obligated to offer to help and sometimes they tell me things im not supposed to know

I was talking to someone the other day and mentioned my dream car is a Toyota Corolla.
She was all like “Wha? Personally I’d want a Jeep!”
Tfw you know just enough about cars that you want the bog standard economy car.

Apartheid state 🤝 Apartheid state

Back when I used to work an email job, I’d get i to work at 8.45/9.00/9.15 in the am whatev the first thing I’d do after firing up my computer would be to go and make myself 1L of plunger coffee and a bowl of microwaved porridge (oatmeal). I eventually settled on a brand I liked called Ancient Grains that had four different types of grain, plus oats (or was oat one of the four). I’d then eat it at my desk and chug the coffee while trying to hopelessly reattain inbox zero/get my bearings for the day. Then after washing my bowl and mug in the kitchenette I’d go and take a 20 minute shit. In hindsight, my coworkers probably all thought of me as 'that one that eats a whole bowl of porridge and drinks a litre of coffee and takes a big shit every morning_
The four ancient grains are apparently rye, puffed, quinoa and millet
The sad thing is that I didn’t even need to shit most times. I’d already pooped at home. I just went through that routine because I wanted some time away from keyboard. But still. If it walks like a duck and craps like a duck
I like making posts and replying to posts, I don’t really like reading Posts
Ariana Grande is in a Fockers movie? Did something happen to her? As far as I know she doesn’t have gambling debts, or food bills.
Love of the game I’m afraid
