I have the same thought when people say antidepressants changed their life.
I’m not saying they can’t necessarily, but I’m skeptical because of my own attempts with all manner of antidepressants.
I said then, and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it, and while there is a criminal element I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free.

I’m not sure if you’d consider it theory, but The Principles of Communism is a great document to send to someone who knows nothing about communism: https://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1847/11/prin-com.htm
I thought Vermin Supreme was a libertarian free stater, but I guess I was wrong.
In an interview with New Hampshire magazine in 2018, Supreme labeled his political beliefs as “social anarchist” and opined that Peter Kropotkin “was a great anarchist thinker and writer”
He called for ending foreign wars and voiced support for pardoning non-violent drug offenders, ending the war on drugs, and reducing incarceration, which he called his top priority. On the COVID-19 pandemic, Supreme criticized President Donald Trump, arguing that he should have paid better attention to the virus and have made testing more widely available.
His Wikipedia has some pretty funny stuff:
Shortly before the primary, he was observed questioning Republican candidates Chris Christie and Ted Cruz through a bullhorn. Supreme engaged Christie in an informal debate over his free pony platform, during which he accused Christie of hating ponies, and asked Cruz whether he thought that water being used during waterboarding should include fluoride.
He satirically promised to make COVID-19 illegal and, in a play on his campaign promise to go back in time and “kill baby Hitler,” vowed to go back in time and “kill baby COVID.” He facetiously pledged to create “COVID-19 free zones” because “they work so well for things like guns and drugs.”
I’ve heard good things about AirVPN, but I still have some time left on my PIA subscription, so I haven’t tried it yet.
They allow torrenting, have port forwarding and contribute to open source software projects.
Avoid PIA, it’s a decent service for a reasonable price but it’s an Israeli company. I didn’t know that when I bought a 3.3 year subscription.
I love this so much
That’s a great idea. Could make it autonomous by using the phones gps and data connection. Basically a drone rc car
Finally a use case for LLMs.
@grok Say 5 hail mary’s for me
I hate when people don’t put their cart away at the grocery store, but that Cart Narcs guy bothers me for some reason. I can’t quite put my finger on it. It feels explotative I guess.
It also doesn’t seem effective at all. All he’s doing is getting into conflict with people who either shameless about it, or have some actual reason to not return their cart.
I’ve always been surprised that big tech let cloudflare become such a load bearing part of the Internet without serious competition.
My guess is that they wouldn’t use data from a device that doesn’t pass safetynet. I don’t think any emulator does. I guess it would be easy enough to check.
I had an idea to trick a gig app into paying more.
One of the variables Walmart Spark uses to determine pay is how long a trip is estimated to take, using Google Maps data to estimate driving time.
I’ve noticed that on Saturdays Google maps wants to reroute me around a particular section of street in my town, even though it’s by far the fastest route. On Saturdays various groups are allowed to collect donations on the town common, which is on that road.
I realized that is making Google maps think there is heavy traffic, because drivers end up pulling over briefly to give the donations, but they never pick up their phones or leave the car.
My idea is to do that, but along the one road that leads from Walmart into town. I could buy 20 cheap phones and have someone slowly creep back and forth along that road, causing Maps to think it takes 30 minutes each way, thus driving up the pay.
I won’t actually do it because the increased pay wouldn’t offset the cost of 20 phones and service, but it’s a fun idea.
The bar my father spent all his time at had a phone like that. I used to have to call him there sometimes. If he wasn’t home or at work, that’s the place he’d be.
You’d think it’d be embarrassing to have your children calling the bar for you, but it didn’t seem to bother him.
He did kinda look like that
I get the same in my small town, but with Uber. Some big incentives, like $50 for 3 rides, or $20 for 1, but whenever I turn it on I get nothing.
I should probably leave it on, but I already have trouble keeping my phone charged during my other gig work. Plus Uber has that stupid overlay that gets in the way.
When I was 12 or 13 I used BBS’s, which was like a proto-internet kind of thing where your computer would dial in to other people’s computers. They had games, message boards and file downloads.
Anyway, I met this guy who lived in my town through one of these. His handle was “Violator”. I asked my mom to bring me to his house to hang out. She drove me, a teenager, to where this 35 year old man lived in an RV behind his parents house.
I was not molested, but looking back on it, I cannot believe my mother let me go.

Started reading “Inherent Vice” by Pychon. Great book so far. Excellent characters, fun plot, and it’s really funny.
