      Hey look it’s Kirima Syaro from the mega-ultra saccharine cartoon that inspired my conlang’s word for coffee

      Edit: The abbreviated Japanese title of the cartoon in question is ごちうさ GochiUsa. Since the show largely takes place in a café, I derived the Manjatian word √gočus ‘café, coffeehouse’ from the title. From √gočus I derived in turn √us ‘restaurant, inn’ as well as √goč ‘(countable) coffee bean, (uncountable) coffee’. Then from the regular relational form of √goč I finally derived √gočk as the word for “caffeine”, because all roads — we should all know by now — ultimately lead to gock.

        So something that is often overlooked about traditional hardcore porn is despite the surface level being about the female body, it’s hyperfocused on male pleasure. Everything is penis-centric, men jerkin’ it to porn are jerkin’ it to the idea of male sexual organ stimulation.     Everyone seems to be focusing on the absolute interest rate, but just as interesting to me are the changes since 2024. Like why is there such an outlier increase in Indian porn interest this year? It moved up 15 places. Solo female is the next biggest jump by moving 10 places up. Milf and anal have both dropped a bit. Not by much, but they were dethroned from being the very top placed in popularity to now being below, presumably for the first time, lesbian and transgender, both of which climbed more than milf and anal dropped. Makes me wonder how much of this is a reflection of some kind of deeper cultural shift, and how much the smaller fluctuations are just expected randomness and noise.

    Edit: not like pornhub is following any kind of scientific rigor, so it’s hard to draw any kind of real conclusions from it, but assuming it’s representative of people’s interest within the population that has access to internet port, it’s still interesting.

      Pornography is completely illegal under current Indian law. There’s been a crackdown on popular porn sites/apps used in India ilsince 2024, so to me that seems like the most obvious reason. It’s possibly Indian people looking for porn on popular foreign sites using vpns or something

        Also bots, I would imagine. I can’t tell about pornhub specifically, because they’re blocking Florida, but I see much more Indian porn out there on other sites. There’s almost certainly bots running those numbers up to make money off the views. Nothing is organic nowadays.
