I tried something similar. Asked ChatGPT to keep an eye on my wife’s flight and to alert me 15 minutes before I would have to leave from where I currently was in order to pick her up. I was around 45 minutes from the airport. It told me to drive 5 minutes before she landed. I didn’t trust it for shit and was on time though.

Can you even use AI for anything fairly recent? It’s been a while but asking for anything that is supposed to happen on the same day seems useless.
AIs can query the web and parse the results, so it is possible for Claude to understand the question, search the web for movie schedule of a cinema, parse the website and give an accurate answer. It’s also very possible for it to do it incorrectly or just pretend that it did that and give you a random time instead so that you are happy.
I can’t imagine trusting an AI with something like this, where it’s so easy to just check it yourself
Going even further, we had this capability already, for example the original Google Assistant was able to do that task just fine.
Yet Gemini similarly seems to struggle with this on mobile.
In the same example, I don’t understand why, that when the agent protocol started happening they didn’t offer the original Google Assistant pathway as an agent of mcp for Gemini to call and add its response to the context.

Nah they can get context and summarize web pages as they presently are. Not all do, and I’m not up to date on what ones do, but the expectation was Claude would find their schedule on their website online, would summarize it, and use that summary to answer the question and any followup ones that would’ve occurred.
Yeah, anything not taken into training yet will not be available for the bot.
AI can definitely have web access enabled and use it all it likes, per whichever system’s choices.
You don’t need AI for this. You can just ask a human, they’ll induce you in error just as often.

The box office, I wouldn’t know, but friends? At least once. Which isn’t much, but it’s one time more than AI.
That just sounds like you’re unaware of the other times you asked AI for an answer and got the wrong one, but accepted it as fact anyway.
A while back someone suggested asking AI about some niche hobby or interest that you’re already incredibly educated or experienced in, and see how well it does. It’ll usually get the main idea, but definitely starts falling apart within the details and nuances. Thing is, you wouldn’t know where to draw those lines if you weren’t already versed in that matter.
Suggesting to my friends that they should look up a topic that they’re well versed in and know inside and out has been a great way to get some friends of mine to start being far more critical of LLMs. Suddenly it wasn’t seeming that smart anymore to them.
The thing is, I have indeed done this many times, in fact I do it every time a new model comes out. Last year it was an intern at best, but now? It’s easily a coworker. Which would be nice, only this happened in less than a year. What happens in 5?
