I’m sorry I made assumptions and I’m definitely projecting on some level, but at the same time it may be worth considering that someone who freezes up may have some unaired feelings. I say that as someone who occasionally does have that happen (both parts). You’re right I certainly may be totally off base though and I may have read some tone that wasn’t there, which text is notorious for being vulnerable to. You come off as not understanding that you’ve hurt your husband’s feelings and I can relate to that “why can’t you just [insert thing I can’t help]?”. In this thread lots of people are relating to that kinda thing so it was kinda jarring to see the opposite.

Right, they need to think of the government as separate and not subject to the moral principles of religion, unless of course it is something that hurts people they like, in that case it’s a moral imperative that the government act. I know this is the atheism community but a part of me always will think that religion is not the problem here, it’s terrible people using it as an excuse to do shitty things. They don’t need it to really make sense, but sound just logical enough to the dumbed down masses to gain traction and pressure even some of the smarter people into thinking in these toxic ways.

Thankfully I cannot put files on my desktop (many Linux desktop environments do this now). It’s just a clean and beautiful background photo. That’s closer to a happy place for me.

My grandmother never knew either. She once said she was glad she was born before a time where you had to use computers. I now relate to that more than I thought possible. She’s been dead for 13 years now, so she’s missed out a whole lot of bullshit. She maybe never even knew who Donald Trump is.

Sometimes there is a disconnect between what your brain wants to do and what it does. Just requires a little understanding. It’s not like your husband can explain it either. The brain is complicated.

Another example: sleep paralysis. It’s very weird but years ago I experienced it. I woke up but couldn’t move. Very scary and strange, but not that uncommon.
