I wasn’t supporting this before but the man has a point
The thing is heterosexuality has a few meanings, one being the actual meaning “hey I’m attracted to the opposite sex” and another the actual reality of “sex is a hierarchy with men at the top, everyone must be forced by violence if necessary to be heterosexual and cis to keep this system of colonisation and exploitation of women in place!”
So yeah I want to abolish the latter.
Similar to when people say “we should abolish the idea of the nuclear family”’ and reactionaries hear “all children should be ripped from their parents and raised in state-run camp run by cold, uncaring state nannies.”
Yeah I said I was a prison abolitionist in a lib trans Reddit space and someone said “hey people who SA and attack trans women go to prison!”
And I was like firstly they don’t. Secondly I’m not saying we just let that happen, we stop it happening the first place by fixing material conditions, then if it still happens we’ve got options that range from Miracle at Fushun to Barbara pit.
Thirdly, trans women who go to prison, get sexually assaulted and attacked there.

What does supporting trans rights have to do with heterosexuality? There are a lot of heterosexual trans people. This feels like this person doesn’t understand the concept of gender as a social construct and difference between sexual identity and sexual orientation.
