Could you elaborate on this? I know the OUN used “Slava Ukraini” and the call and response with “glory to the heroes” is similar to the call and response you mention, but I have never heard of it being “explicitly modeled” on the Nazi slogan.

Looking it up all I see are atlanticist freaks talking about how Bandera merely had a brief “strategic alliance” with the Nazis (something that I am familiar with the heinous deceptiveness of).

During the “strategic alliance”, they also used Slava Ukraini and Slava Heroiam as the call/response to their Nazi allies’ Heil Hitler.

Like if a Banderite and a Nazi met, it would either go “Heil Hitler” “Slava Heroiam” or “Slava Ukraini” “Sieg Heil”.

I’m afraid I can’t remember where I read it. The only source I could find from a cursory search (on Yandex of course, western search engines return nothing) is this blog post which says that it was adopted at the second conference of the OUN, in fascist Rome in 1939 at which time Bandera was networking with all the European fascists - however this blog also doesn’t cite any sources, so it’s not much more help.

I did manage to find this photo of a banner in occupied Ukraine during WW2

It says “Heil Hitler! Slava NazisHitler, Slava Ukraine!”

Wikipedia article basically covers it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slava_Ukraini

The phrase first appeared at the beginning of the 20th century in different variations, when it became popular among Ukrainians during the Ukrainian War of Independence from 1917 to 1921.[1] The response “Glory to the heroes!” first appeared during the Ukrainian War of Independence or later in the 1920s among members of the League of Ukrainian Nationalists.[2] In the 1930s, it became widespread as a slogan of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN),[3] as well as Ukrainian diaspora groups and refugee communities in the West during the Cold War. In the Soviet Union, the phrase was forbidden. The phrase eventually resurfaced in Ukraine during the country’s struggle for independence in connection with the fall of the Soviet Union. Its use was revived again during the 2014 Ukrainian revolution and the Russo-Ukrainian War, during which it became a widely popular symbol in Ukraine.

Sounds weird, because I literally never seen this phrase mentioned in any contemporary accounts before late 1920s-early 1930s.

The source it lists for that has a note for the Nova Rada paper dated 1917 that says it “Slava! Slava Ukraine!” in the middle.
                https://www.istpravda.com.ua/images/doc/c/1/c17df46-1917.2b23dde-03-zboty-v-dii-vtsi.jpg
The source says it goes back earlier to around 1900 by Kharkiv Ukrainian students’ association. Not sure how dependable Istorychna Pravda is as a source. The author is Yury Yuzych, head of Plast Supervisory Council, which is some international Ukrainian network (particularly in Canada) so I assume it’s fascist in nature. Found a Radio Free Europe article where he’s associated with a “patriotic summer camp” in Ukraine from 2024 so I’m like 90% he’s a fascist.

i have a friend, supposed leftist(he can’t decide if he’s an anarchist or marxist or whatever) and when he sends me some youtube video about the war, it’s always from the Ukraine POV. Add to the fact he’s anti authoritarian but also wants to…the rich. so yea, square that circle, pal.

Yeah we pretty much know as facts that he’s a r***ist and thinks kids are sexy, he’s a gross pervert and there’s so much more evidence I don’t even want to type. The question isn’t whether Don was involved it’s how much.

In the context of what’s implied he did with Jeff and Ghislain, the pee tape is mundane.

Some UA government officials have decided to bail too, apparently there’s people within who are seeing the writings on the walls. I don’t see how this goes on.

As other’s have said supposed tapes of trump engaging in watersports with sex workers in the same Moscow hotel room Obama once stayed in

It came from the ‘Steele Dossier’(was a big part of the OG russiagate and Muller stuff) written by a B*itish spy Christopher Steele, which has since been thoroughly debookned and discredited

Its weird libs are still so stuck on it(I think they haven’t been able to move past Muller et all vindicating Trump from all the ‘he’s a Russian agent’ stuff) when there’s actual evidence of him engaging in real sex crimes in the various Epstein material

Was the Steele Dossier debunked? I always thought the “russiagate is a liberal hoax” was copium and that the Steele Dossier and Mueller Report provided undeniable evidence that Trump is on Kremlin puppet strings, but I never read either of the reports because who even cares about them anymore?

“russiagate is a liberal hoax” was copium and that the Steele Dossier and Mueller Report provided undeniable evidence that Trump is on Kremlin puppet strings

Nah, many still repeat this as like you they have not read the report or investigation into the dossier, they act like trump not going all cold warrior on putin is evidence of him being ‘on Kremlin puppet strings’ but if that were the case his government wouldn’t be the main supplier of military arms and and other aid to an opponent Russia is currently in a war with.

          For the dossier:

The Primary Sub-source explained to the FBI that his information came from “word of mouth and hearsay” and “conversation that [he] had with friends over beers”, and that some of the information, such as allegations about Trump’s sexual activities, were statements made in “jest.“

          https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/press/rep/releases/newly-declassified-document-indicates-fbi-misled-congress-on-reliability-of-steele-dossier

          https://archive.blogs.harvard.edu/kleelerner/the-discredited-steele-dossier-a-test-of-media-ethics/

The Muller investigation with all the resources of the FBI and more were not able to find any evidence of coordination between the trump campaign and russia, they found that russia did want trump to win and used ‘active measures’ a scary term for facebook posts. Quoting stuff here(apart from stuff in parentheses):

Numerous Contacts but No Conspiracy: The investigation identified multiple links and contacts between Trump campaign associates and Russian-affiliated(They count Wikileaks as ‘russia-affliated’ which imo is an incorrect portrayal, they have received and published info from russian state actors, but have also done the same with other states and whistleblowers) individuals.(Most campaigns meet with foreign actors as a matter of course, by itself it does not imply collusion) However, the report stated these contacts did not amount to a criminal conspiracy

Receptive to Help: The report noted that the Trump campaign expected to benefit electorally from stolen emails hacked and released by Russia, but it did not find that the campaign knowingly or actively took part in the hacking or dissemination efforts

If it had found evidence of collusion, he would have been impeached for it ‘Foreign Collusion/working for the Reds!’ being far juicer than the relatively weaker sauce of getting Zelensky to try find dirt on Biden, and inciting J6 which were the reasons for his impeachments

Now I really shouldn’t have to say this but seems to be necessary when anything that can be seen as pro trump comes up. I do not support him in the slightest, he’s a fascist, a racist, a genocidaire, like all US presidents a war criminal. And of course personally extremely odious, his disregard for decorum being a major reason he garners such ire from the libs, of which many are now saying ‘I miss Bush’ a person whose caused far more innocent bloodshed than trump(so far at least) but did so with ‘folksy charm’ as if painting and giving Michelle Obama an altoid redeems him of his crimes.

All that to say that the statement the Muller investigation/report ‘provided undeniable evidence that Trump is on Kremlin puppet strings’ is objectively false

That makes sense. The libs seem to take the latter and play it up to be the former.

I understand. I’ve lurked and commented in these parts for years. It was genzedong getting banned during the SMO that made me come to Lemmy in the first place. I’ve felt compelled to entertain the russiagate stuff because I am surrounded by liberals in meatspace at all times and am too much of a spineless coward[1] to ever push back on their putrid worldview.

            1. I’m also a liberal, even if I larp as a communist online ↩︎

        • not only was it a hoax, it was a distraction from Jeffery Epstein and you fell for it, we could’ve impeached Trump successfully in his first term over being a pedophile or any of his litany of crimes in this country or his very real connections to the mafia but instead you fucking freaks fell for the bullshit and have been chasing Russian ghosts for a fucking decade wasting all of our time

if you still hate russia-cool more than isntrael or amerikkka then just go sign up to die in ukkkraine already and quit making it anyone else’s problem

are you funded by Jeffery Epstein? can’t see why anyone would still give a single shit about the bullshit “pee tape” unless they really don’t want us talking about Jeffery Epstein

did your instance even allow discussion of Jeffrey Epstein before Trump got reelected or was it considered a dangerous conspiracy theory back then?

in an interview with a Hasan Piker a couple of days ago Jeremy Corbyn boasted he’s the only person in the Epstein Files who’s proud to be there because Epstein and his pedo friends only talked about how much they hated Corbyn and how they plotted his ruin

do you think Zelensky could say the same thing? I wouldn’t be proud if I was him, his entry in the Epstein Files is almost the opposite with Epstein plotting how to make him president

my questions seem much more relevant than yours

I think my response made my position clear. You are a delusional liberal conspiracy theorist disconnected from material reality because you believe there’s russian psy-ops on Hexbear dot com instead of learning why we hold the positions we do, you jump to these harebrained theories. It’s a failure of theory of mind, you cannot conceive we legitimately hold these positions because your imagination and worldview is narrow.
