  • You got to be careful not to reduce the world down to biological essentialism. It’s fair to put forward an argument that we’ve potentially reached abundance, but that doesn’t mean we distribute things equally. Life is complicated, everyone who claims to have figured it out is lying. All we can do is observe tendencies and write possible outcomes, based on assumed observations. Where do correct ideas come from? Well you need to test it directly, to be sure.

Socialism/Communism is just the logical conclusion when one observes, as much history as possible and tries to make sense of the underlying contradictions. When you try to make changes and lots of people dislike your proposals, when they have no faith in your direction - there’s a good chance they will eliminate you, they will betray you, they fill flock to somebody else.

You are correct in the sense that we cannot simply copy the past, because history doesn’t repeat. I would be lying if I said I find the current way people around myself behave acceptable, but I think I somewhat understand what may have lead them here. It’s likely my own analysis lacks the depth it really requires, because a lot of information I need is redacted. Thus I am incapable of producing a more thorough analysis and perhaps I would see what I really need to do. On the other hand we have people who don’t know what hunger feels like, they don’t really care about others that much or think it’s a fool’s game to try to change the “impossible” or “human natur!”

Like, we cannot possibly analyze the internal workings of every single human being, even if we had a supercomputer now and conducted a survey how do you know someone isn’t just doing some trolling? troll Etc.

There’s a lot of things i dislike about this world. I don’t like having to lie just to get people to trust me, don’t like that I have to cooperate with vile people, don’t like my loved ones being captured in cults I can’t save them from. I can’t stand the fact that I can’t talk about things without people assuming malice, in forms of me trying to farm for sympathy or stolen valor and the way the internet is run now basically forces me to stay anonymous, which is necessary for my own safety, but ultimately cannot be denied offers tremendous benefits to people willing to take advantage of it.

It’s easy to be idealistic when one’s own skin isn’t in the game.

  • Azula doesn’t have a character, that’s the whole point of her character. You redeem her, you need to fill that void somehow or fundamentally change the direction the show is going towards.

You can hate me for being cliché here, but we won’t have unique new series until we transition to Socialist mode of production. In theory you could already write a speculative attempt at displaying a hypothetical, realistic, socialist experiment functioning, but it would likely cause astronomic amount of cognitive dissonance.

I’ll expand on it a bit: Like imagine if the Legend of Kora was a show that takes place in the phase of humanity which has achieved socialist mode of production and the Avatar has to learn to live in a world that’s radically revolutionary while she is basically hyper conservative, always assuming the worst, because of all the trauma baggage from thousands of years of Imperialism. Yeah this type of shit’s never getting produced in my lifetime lol

  • Europe’s embrace of Fascism is a very good example of why China has been fixating on internal stability over international socialist expansion. Soviet Union became a socialist pariah that couldn’t even reproduce it’s own political party, the more it tried to accelerate the more eager and unified all the Capitalists were in making sure they do everything in their power to destroy it.

I dread what it’s going to take to re-establish some semblance of peaceful co-existence in Europe.

Don’t get me wrong it’s not like everyone living here is a bloodthirsty fascist, but they’re not going to do anything about them.

  • Engels noticed something related to this.

Since the bourgeoisie vouchsafes them only so much of life as is absolutely necessary, we need not wonder that it bestows upon them only so much education as lies in the interest of the bourgeoisie; and that, in truth, is not much.

As it is, the State Church manages its national schools and the various sects their sectarian schools for the sole purpose of keeping the children of the brethren of the faith within the congregation, and of winning away a poor childish soul here and there from some other sect. The consequence is that religion, and precisely the most unprofitable side of religion, polemical discussion, is made the principal subject of instruction, and the memory of the children overburdened with incomprehensible dogmas and theological distinctions; that sectarian hatred and bigotry are awakened as early as possible, and all rational mental and moral training shamefully neglected.

The workman is far more humane in ordinary life than the bourgeois. I have already mentioned the fact that the beggars are accustomed to turn almost exclusively to the workers, and that, in general, more is done by the workers than by the bourgeoisie for the maintenance of the poor. This fact, which any one may prove for himself any day, is confirmed, among others, by Dr. Parkinson, Canon of Manchester, who says:

“The poor give more to each other than the rich give to the poor. I am confirmed in this assertion by the testimony of one of our oldest, most learned, and most observant physicians Dr. Bardsley, whose humanity is as conspicuous as his learning and talent, and who has often publicly declared that the aggregate sum given in each year by the poor to each other exceeds that contributed by the rich in the same period.”

From : Condition of the Working Class in England, by Engels, 1845

There’s got to be someone who’s written a modern day equivalent, right? An analysis of the suicide prevention hotline’s performance ought to be included in the report.

  • We have fallen upon evil times
and the world has waxed very old and wicked.
    Politics are very corrupt.
Children are no longer respectful to their parents.

    • Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 BC.

We’ve been having these discussions for like 3000 years. Yes it has everything to do with the relations to the means of production and the way society distributes them. How these relationships evolve throughout the passage of time, who is in control? marx-joker

There is nothing inherently progressive about the youth rebelling, without a healthy direction, these people might as well get funneled into harmful heaps of trash like the Aryan Myth or Zionism

  • I do think it’s a shining embodiment of capitalism, a lot of Americans I’ve met are exceptionally gregarious and at the same time being extremely resistant to budging their mind. I don’t see much of a creative drive usually, it’s mostly about consuming stuff and discussing how you feel about things. There isn’t much of a material incentive to learn, so people don’t…

Conversation also serves as a form of commodity, networking, you speak because you want something not because of the speech itself. You don’t want to offend people, because it ruins your potential business opportunities - so it’s best to keep the conversation shallow and simplistic. Over time this has become a subconscious feature of the culture itself where being anti-intellectual is the norm.

It conveniently also makes it much easier to control people, because the assumption is that if you’re an important looking person with a big crowd, in front of a podium, well you must know what you’re talking about.
