Before starting work on PieFed I spent years doing disinformation research and that list is the result. Prior to that I was working at the parliament of my country surrounded by the inner workings of politics. All that is to say: this is a high quality block list made by someone who deeply understands the subject matter.

Bug reports and discussions in our coding workspace are automatically numbered sequentially so when issue # 1488 came up, I made sure it was used to document how lacking in manhood Hitler was. It’s true, he did have one, look it up.

I love the idea of a de-escalation button. Does it work well in practice? I could see it being abused by people repeatedly posting offensive or provocative statements then retracting them to avoid criticism.

I think this is a great idea wasted on a platform who’s userbase probably wouldn’t use it much. Maybe we should implement it here

Regarding that diagram, where do the anti-Castro Cubans, Sam Giancana, and E Howard Hunt fit in?
Didn’t they say they were going to stop and step away because they were showing how toxic they are to anyone that does not share their very very very specific vision of social media?
“Public retraction” feature is probably the most pathetic thing I’ve seen on the Fediverse yet lmao
I don’t really think it’s pathetic, I think it can be used if someone has realized they had a reactionary take and have accepted criticism.
Granted, I don’t know it most piefed users will be using it but I think it’s a fine idea.
