Is this “rare congress” just a regularly held 5 year congress that occurs like China’s ones?
EDIT: Yes. It’s a 5 year congress.
Yep, pretty much.
Yeah so “rare congress” is typical scare phrasing used when reporting DPRK.
Yep, more of the sort to be found in the article itself, “dynasty,” etc. etc.
Personally, I like my congress medium rare.
Well, if they keep using the word every 5-year-plan, I think that downgrades the rarity. Pretty soon it will only be an uncommon congress.
The Legendary congress will happen any year now…
I’ll wait to get excited until they rip a sleeve that has a foil congress in it.
The one where they decided to get nukes was the rare foil
i’m pretending they mean rare the way lil b says it
5-year congress but 7-year plans?
Edit: nvm im bugging they only had one 7 year plan
North Korea would probably look like China if it wasn’t for the sanctions that started the moment the devastating war ended (which killed, according to Curtis LeMay 20% of the population and destroyed all the infrastructure, also every village, town and city)
It was 80% of the buildings from the 38th parallel to Pyongyang, I think.
Modern Pyongyang already does seemingly resemble a tier 2ish Chinese city imo.
He didn’t before? Not a good look mate
yup. previously he would only promise to lower the living standards while twirling his moustache
Damn smdh my dick head 😔
This has been a consistent policy line of Kim Jong Un, in line with his previous statements:
- 2012 where NBC reported he told “China that his priority is to develop the decaying economy and improve living standards”
- 2016 where CNN reported on his five-year plan: “In keeping with his pledge to improve his people’s living standards, Kim also emphasized the need to generate more electricity…”
- 2024 where the Pyongyang website Friend-DPRK reported: “At present, it is a very urgent immediate task for leveling up the material and cultural living standards of the regional people to adopt a revolutionary strategy and take all measures to make it possible to develop regional industry in a comprehensive and balanced way by most effectively creating and using the economic resources and raw materials of cities and counties and to promote the peculiar development of each regional economy and expand the scope of investment in it while creating a climate of competition in order to accelerate diversified growth.”
- Probably much more as well…
leveling up
uphold Juche-Boris Johnson thought
Horrific comment.
