As surely as Donald Trump sought to cash in on his various criminal indictments, so the former president turned Republican presidential nominee began to sell merchandise commemorating his attempted assassination in Pennsylvania last weekend.

In Butler county on Saturday, a rooftop gunman wielding an AR-15-style rifle fired shots at the stage. Trump was wounded in one ear. One rally-goer was killed and two injured. The gunman, who was killed by a sniper, was discovered to have had an explosive device in his car.

Despite such traumatic events, 45Footwear, a company which has sold $399 golden Trump-branded sneakers, swiftly offered a new range of high-tops.

Rather more pricey than unofficial assassination merch churned out in China, the $299 white shoes were emblazoned with the US flag, an image of Trump with fist raised and face bloodied and the words “Fight Fight Fight” – his instant reaction to being shot.

Imagine your spouse taking a bullet intended for Trump, then watching him sell shoes to commemorate and profit from the event. Imagine witnessing these things occur as any person, and still thinking Trump deserves a donation or a vote.

Edit - I know that no one likes comments about downvotes, but I just wanted to say that nothing confirms my expectations of Republicans more than the knowledge that some butthurt maga read what I wrote above, and disagreed strongly enough to downvote it rather than pause for one moment to consider what that would feel like if someone they cared about were shot.

It was like 10 minutes ago. Did the funeral even happen yet?

Speaking of which, how the fuck did they even get this product out so fast?! I mean, I realize it’s most likely just a miracle of modern on-demand/just-in-time manufacturing and logistics, but I’ll be damned if the conspiratorial part of me isn’t thinking this lends credence to the notion that the assassination attempt was a false flag planned in advance.

It is super easy right now to make these quickly, if you put up more cash for a rush job and air freight. And at $300 each, they have plenty of margin to cover that.

The cheapest ground beef I can find is at Costco, in the form of frozen patties, and their beef comes from Argentina, Brazil, Germany, and the US.

Like, how is that possibly less expensive than…

And then Del Monte fruit cups! Those fruits are from all over the world diced into a cup, and sold for like $1.

            Nothing makes any sense.

when they say it comes from those 4 countries, I’m pretty sure that’s a comforting smokescreen to bury the fact that the vast majority is from slashed and burned rainforest land in Brazil.

No, the funeral is tomorrow and I doubt Trump would be allowed to attend. All the security would be impactful to the service.

It looks like the product is just a mockup and not a real product.

I haven’t watched a video, listened to the audio, or read a transcript, but I assure you that if you cut a whoopie cushion in half and stick it on a hair dryer with the farty end sticking out, it’ll make more sense and bring you greater enjoyment.

That’s not even the good picture. Who is in charge of this shit? They should have used the one from below with the flag overhead.

I hate it, but the one from below is the fucking money shot. You almost couldn’t pay for a better picture. Except the only reason I can think that they’re not using it is that the photographer or organization he works for wouldn’t license it to him.

It’s just sad and frustrating that so many people / Americans / voters are so fraught with hate and pain and animosity that they’ve lost all sense of respect for themselves and their grasp on reality. I think this is why so many of us feel helpless and resort to name calling. Please, wake up and engage in genuine policy discussions. I’m sure we have more in common that we think and we could find compromises within our disagreements.

I mean, you have to be a braindead idiot or suffer from genuine mental instability (same thing?) to consider purchasing such memorabilia (never mind coming up with the idea to make it in the first place). I’m sure there’s people who want others to suffer from their idiotic choices but I just want people to snap out of their obsessions for the greater benefit of us all. I’m tired of people willfully being gullible.

Trump with fist raised and face bloodied and the words “Fight Fight Fight” – his instant reaction to being shot.

If you watch the video, that was actually his 2nd reaction. His 1st reaction was making sure that he had his high heel shoes on.

“FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT” really tones down the rhetoric, doesn’t it? I’m not one for conspiracy theories, but if ANYBODY could be base enough to nick their own ear and hire one pawn to kill another in sacrifice, it’s this piece of satan’s taint.
