This really had me like:

(In all seriousness, I just went there to upload some images to host privately, as that’s the only reason why I keep it around, but my eyes wandered.)

At this point where’s even the place to flee?

Extremely beautiful area. Just not sure I could handle the humidity.

and scared of what the area will look like when seas rise

maybe aim for hanoi yeah… I had no idea HCMC was sinking…

lets just say I still would have more faith in vietnam handling sea level rise than say, florida, and I don’t think northern vietnam is at risk of wet bulb temps any time too soon, but it would still be hot and humid for a westerner

I’ve been looking into what it would take to move to China. There’s probably better places to live in 2024 but at their current rate by 2050 it’ll be a fantastic place to live.

By 2050 we could be 20 years into socialist “Tired of winning comrades?” (Whatever ends up being the Chinese Pepe) memes.

        Fat chance with Switzerland.

        • It’s one of the most expensive countries on the planet to live in. For example, rents in the cities are comparable to Washington D.C. and Vancouver, and other living expenses aren’t cheap either.
        • The right-wing SVP (racist/isolationist much like Trump) has been the majority party for decades. Hostility against foreign people is high, and immigration is the main scapegoat.
        • Competition on the housing market is extremely high and there are usually dozens of people registering for any given apartment viewing. You’ll also be competing with the rest of Europe, especially Germany, France and Italy.

Don’t even bother if you haven’t got a really well-paying job lined up.
