I think because reddit as a whole is so anti-China that they assume anyone who starts talking negatively about China is just trying to get their foot in the door for full on lib arguments about it being literally worse than the Nazis.
Yeah I caught I ban a while ago from LSC in a similar situation. I think it’s important to remember that moderators are just people who are doing their best to maintain a usable Internet platform and you shouldn’t take every ban or removal as a big thing.

I remember when Lemmy was just getting started the devs really tried to push shorter-term suspensions over perma-bans and defederation, such as not even having a “permanent ban” button but instead requiring a time limit.
A lot of instances just ended up doing “99999 days” suspensions anyways which kind of defeats the point
