Where I live, we had a BIG protest for George Floyd. It made the police very mad. They were out in force beating the shit out of protestors: truncheons, teargas, rubber bullets (no bounce, just straight to the face; maimed a bunch of people), nazi shit. After that, the city voted to defund them, obviously. This made them even more big mad. They said: “Well, fuck you! We’re literally heroes! When I caved your skull in with a CS grenade I was helping you! You want to defund me? Fine! I’ll just do absolutely nothing all day on shift and collect a paycheck in protest! That’ll show you!” And that’s exactly what they did: nothing at all. Just quiet quit. THEN! Shockingly against the will of the voters, the legislature not only didn’t cut their funding, instead they increased it by several orders of magnitude! But the class-traitors were not satisfied. They had been insulted. They took the money, and decided to still do nothing at all. They would be paid, but they would not enforce any laws. Sometimes, if it was bad enough, they might show up, eventually, after lunch, y’know when they get around to it. The crime rate in the city did exactly what you would expect: it remained exactly the same. Almost like the police do absolutely nothing to prevent crime.
