Isn’t poem like the oldest fad? Like we don’t have any story older than poems? It’s that thing about bad copper and then Gilgamesh, right?
thatsTheJoke.jpg.exe
What a lovely jpg file! Not sure why my Windows file manager shows the .jpg for this file and not the extensions for any of the others, but I’ll gladly double-click this to open it!
Prose wasn’t invented until hundreds of years after poetry was written down (why write it out if it’s not poetry?), once the Athenians started publishing their court speeches, but the latest fad of “movies based on poems” is why we don’t yet have a Cinematic Universe of J. Alfred Prufrock.
There’s probably some cavemen stories out there
Gruhg probably never stopped telling people about the tiger he killed that was fifteen hands high (14 hands the last time he told it)
I was actually feeling sad about never being able to hear what were no doubt big prehistorical songs. Like what melodies were going around multiple caves?
It isn’t quite the same. But we sorta know how the Hurrian hymns go. Which I think is really cool. Almost 4000 year old songs, and you can sorta sing along.
That’s really cool! Thank you for sharing this. It’s right up my alley
speaking of, when we getting the epic of gilgamesh on the screen?
2 years from now, the cinematic universe will call for an Enkidu movie and Ea-Nasir’s revenge.
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
Won’t anyone think of the poor bat-deprived kids?
Prius
latte
Bat-Liberty
Hey, drawing a key fob is hard, ok?
What a scam! These are just old greek superheroes! Like Wonder Woman and Morbius!
bat-mom, bat-dad and the nuclear bat-family in shambles.
Don’t forget Bat-Lady Liberty, who I assume is involved with the Bat-Throuple
Tag yourselves, I’m bat-deprived kids.
what poems do you all want to see get film adaptations?
Edgar Allen Poe stuff is easy mode.
I’m gonna say Casey At The Bat.
Another Reason Why I Don’t Keep A Gun In The House
So he doesn’t shoot the dawgy?
It would basically go like one of those Twisted Sister music videos. The angry adult man repeatedly humiliated by the dog barking along to Beethoven.
Yes, that is beautiful indeed.
Les Fleurs du mal
The Changing Light at Sandover
I wanna see some motherfuckers watch the things they gave their life to broken and stoop to build them up with worn out tools in 3D!
The dead bat instead of the dead bald eagle lmao

Kelly refuses to miss
Okay but Nolan is weirdly format obsessed. Like he makes films specifically for a format that has limited availability and prevents proper translation to home video. He shoots for and edits specifically for imax, he will remove scenes to fit within imax’s runtime limit
