Damn, haven’t heard anyone mention Tibet in a long time. What’s the Dalai Lama up to these days

I think one of the biggest communication issues between people in China and people in the west is that people in the west are just so, so, so fucking ignorant. Like, your average Chinese person probably can’t even conceive of how little your average westerner knows about Chinese history. Most of us don’t even know Hong Kong was occupied by the British for fuck’s sake.

That was the best part about the Xiaohongshu migration, watching all the Americans realizing in real time just how wrong their conception of China was

I’ve met a lot of people who think “China” “conquered” Hong Kong from the “Hong Kongers” Not just kids either, people literally old enough to remember Hong Kong changing hands in 1999.

But that’s also another problem, so many people in the west will have a vague understanding of history, but will just think western imperialism is a good thing and the people fighting against it were always in the wrong.

Many Westerners don’t even think China is a legitimate sovereign country that deserves respect. They think le seesepee is a basically a gang of murderous thugs that unlawfully stole China from its rightful rulers and that are constantly working overtime to oppress their citizens, pollute the environment and undermine Western democracies

China has 5x the population of the US and yet it has a smaller prison population. Not by %, they have less absolute total prisoners despite having 5x the population size, and these people call it an authoritarian regime…

Absolutely nobody in the west can talk about “supporting a regime” if they support the US. China has a 90% home ownership rate, significantly lower homeless rate. Better literacy rates. Better education rates. Less people live in poverty.

Anyone taking their time to attack China that does not attack the US equally or even more so is propagandised and not looking at things objectively.

All of the people saying this shit wave the US flag the hardest. They can’t even offload this shit onto Trump or recent administration, it’s always been there, they’ve always supported it.

and these people call it an authoritarian regime…

The tiresome thing is that everything you said will be dismissed as a lie. That’s how they can keep their worldview going indefinitely.

    • That might be true for america-libs. I have euro-libs as friends and right now everyone despises the ever living fuck out of the U.S. While China still faces our propaganda-machine, if I say “I think amerikkka is worse than China” I would not be looked at like a weirdo.

Everyone here in europe is at the point now where they’ll acknowledge that it’s a majority of the american people, not just Trump.

        • That’s I guess true for many as our propaganda really tries to crawl up their asses. But first I am doubtful I have to see a Demonrat as president again and second I honestly believe that the U.S. took more lasting damage than it’s population thinks. We don’t have patriotism of that kind.

I love how they ‘forget’ that EU basically did a smaller version of 1990s Russian shock therapy to Greece.

Edit : left axis on the graph is billions, not millions

  • Reddit is a cancer ass misrepresentation of any group. If I could only judge people through reddit I would cheer for the third world war to happen soon. It really brings out the worst and all the while pretends to be normal through appeasement to the mainstream. With shit like 4chan people at least knew that it is a playground for the very “weird”.

    Hobbies? What’s the context here?

Eurolibs just gave Ukraine $100B to burn so the only hobby they’re getting is logrolling. (Logrolling is the cheapest hobby I can think of)

But… Taiwan is not a sovereign nation. They are Chinese, just under the Republic of China state

I don’t think people in Hong Kong are a different people, are they?

Was looking up a way to get rid of the page numbers showing up in Moon Reader+ last night and found a Reddit thread and the screenshot they had of Moon Reader was of course some LA Time journalist propaganda book about DPRK. And a bunch of people in the comments were asking what the book was. Every time.
