Updates here:

Iran has launched hundreds of drones, cruise and ballistic missiles. Iran says with this attack, it considers the matter concluded, and any Israeli response will be met with severe retaliation. Iran also tells the US to stay away and that if any regional nation is used to launch the Israeli response, they will be targeted, too.

Israel claims to have intercepted 99% of Iranian response, and the IDF says citizens no longer need to stay near shelters, suggesting the Iranian attack is over. They were helped by UK and US fighter jets in other countries. Israel says it will give “an unprecedented response”. Israel has told the US what their response will consist of.

UN Security Council to meet at 4 PM Eastern Time, Sunday. As of now, it seems all drones and missiles have been intercepted/hit their targets. The impact on Israel has been extremely minor, with minimal casualties and zero fatalities. A military target seems to have been hit. Now we wait for Israel’s response.

Hopefully, that too is similarly limited and the situation calms down.

OG Post:

Per randos on Twitter, drones will reach in a few hours. It’s not missiles or anything more substantial…yet (and hopefully never).

Edit - Hopefully, this is the only response. I can’t stand the people cheering for this or wanting further escalation. Millions will die. I have no idea what Israel will do in retaliation for this retaliation. I don’t even have any hopes they’ll not respond. I just don’t know.

It’s crazy how short libs attention spans are. The embassy was bombed less than a week ago and they’re acting like Iran is doing this out of the blue. I’ve seen enough videos and pictures of dead or maimed kids. I have as much pity for the average Israeli as I do for fucking Hitler.

We need a sort of denazification for Israel at this point, settler-colonial ideology is so engrained that much of the civilian population needs reeducation. Heartbreaking as much as infuriating.

how short libs attention spans are

According to libs I know, Iran is the one who told Hamas to attack by order of Putin to distract the US from their goals in Ukraine, and because Iran supports Hamas they are a valid target

      I wish I was kidding

Ive been hearing liberals cry about Iran for years now and I just ask them ‘why would they want to attack us’ and they never have an answer. Its mostly along the lines of ‘they hate us’ but won’t go beyond that.

I am thankful that I spent a decade writing novels that specifically specialize in the difference between a protagonist and a “good guy.” Now I can conceptualize of someone with different, perhaps antagonistic goals to my own without believing that they are evil and out to get me. I guess I’ve been taking the ability for granted and calling the lack of ability a deficiency.

I pray for Iran’s swift return to peace after the horrifying attack on their embassy and, of course, a free Palestine. What a heartbreaking and terrible situation.

Expected. Iran didn’t respond right away to the Israeli attacks, but instead wanted to get Biden to deescalate and get Israel to stop being so insane. Biden refused and here we are.

Biden’s strategy has been to beg Iran to not take the bait because they’re more reasonable but he’s not going to tell Israel to stop because he’s chicken shit. So this is going to slowly escalate for a while.

It’s so awesome that all Biden had to do was to reign Israel in and stop giving them money. Instead they have been given support for every fucking thing they have done and now we are facing a fullblown war in the region. All because if this fucking asshole.

Israel has now been effectively attacked, iirc, by Palestinian forces, Hamas, Ansarallah, and now maybe Iran. The al-Aqsa Flood broke their sense of invulnerability, and I imagine that finding out that so many of their adversaries can actually hit them at home hasn’t been good for their sanity.

I wish the world wasn’t like this.

Yea, us Iranians are strong, we have not lost a war and many are celebrating in the streets right now. We fully stand behind our government retaliating after years of wanton attacks on our scientists and leaders. Fuck Israel, fuck the west.

This. The bombing of the consulate killed 13 people. The retaliation killed 0. And it seems that Israel wants to continue with further deadly force.

Israel could have averted this retaliation had they stopped their genocide in Gaza, Iran gave them that option.

This clearly proves the zionist regime cares more about murdering innocent Palestinians than it does the safety of their own citizens.

They could have averted this strike by not blowing up an Iranian consulate, a clear act of war under international law.

And the same goes for the continued support of its allies like the US, Europe, and UK who are now flying jets to have to intercept Iranian missiles and could get dragged into a far bigger regional war depending on thr Israeli/US response.

They’ve had months and months and months to back off, to stop support, to force Israeli restraint, or even just to recognise and not oppose international law. Instead they continually doubled down on supporting and facilitating the genocide while cheering and enacting increasingly fascist crackdowns on dissent at home.

They ignored their own populations, their own political considerations, their signatures to treaties and international law, even their own geopolitical goals to stand unified and unblinking in support of genocide, Islamophobia, and white supremacy. They had a thousand chances and still couldn’t help themselves.

Honestly considering the players here, how history will remember this could very well depend on who wins in the end. As I can see the US outright doing suppression of info via jailing and executions, under thinly veiled curtains of ‘national security’.

50 years from now people will likely be told a heavily sanitized version of it, 100 years from now historians will maybe start finding out what we know now.

Of course this implies that there will be anyone around left that would care about history by then.

Support for Israel has been dropping, but it’s hard for me to imagine that Amerikkka and the average Amerikkkan citizen won’t be 100% back on Israel’s side if things are escalated by someone other than Israel. The Biden administration made a lot of bad moves, got a lot of people killed and hurt his own reelection chances pretty bad. I just don’t know what he thinks he’s been doing.

Can’t wait to see liberals’ blatant double standard. Israel can attack and murder people from surrounding states freely, but when one of its victims defends itself, it suddenly becomes aggression.

    TL;DR: About fucking time.

Israel supporters in worldnews were disappointed by this news. They claim the drones will be shot down by the Iron Dome and other defence systems + the response is too little to warrant US action. Who knows if any of that is true. But again, they were disappointed that Iran showed fucking restraint and hasn’t (so far) escalated to the level of regional war.

Like…who knows what happens 24 hours from now. Maybe Iran launches more stuff. Or Israel responds disproportionately. Or US says “fuck it, this is enough” and does something on behalf of Israel anyways. But at this very moment, it doesn’t look like full-blown war, for which I can only thank god.

Imo if China gets in on this, it won’t be action against Taiwan Province. It’ll be escalating the ongoing spat with the Philippines, possibly evicting those Filipino Marines squatting on that beached landing ship.

US will then have to decide between diverting ships and planes to show the flag over islands it really couldn’t care less about, or instead do nothing and show Taiwan, RoK and Japan that American support can’t be counted on.

People talk about a Taiwanese front as if the ROC wouldn’t fall in less than 72 hours due to defecting generals who have been bribed with mansions in the Mainland for surrendering and surrendering conscripts who just don’t want to die. The real front would be one against the Philippines.
