The bourgeoisified proletariat: imperial core workers that are elevated above the rest of the working class by being high up on the value added production chain and by the redistribution of imperialst superprofit through investments and properties.

Their access to other means of wealth accumulation besides labor (and their very high wages besides) allow them to acquire even more investments/properties and even have a reasonable expectation to move up the class ladder (become a business owner or landlord, etc).

They have a bourgeois culture, bourgeois lifestyles, and bourgeois politics. However this “class” is artificial, it was created to maintain labor peace and it’s collapsing because the empire is collapsing.

  • It gets the causal relationship between political leaders and the masses backwards.

The Overton Window presupposes that politicians are limited by the electorate in what they can discuss and pursue; there’s a range of acceptable politics which is created by public opinion.

The reality is that public opinion is created by political leaders and politics is the tool they can use to change the range of acceptable opinion.

By getting the causal relationship backwards there is a tendency to tail the masses rather than lead them. Instead of using politics to create new political realities, politicians behave as if they are trapped within the existing political reality by politics. They seem to think politics is something that happens to you, rather than a tool you use to do things.

There’s a range of acceptable opinion, sure, but it doesn’t limit politics. Instead, politics creates the range of acceptable opinion.

  • I don’t care that college students are cheating.

Higher education is a financialized accreditation tool for stealing people’s money and gatekeeping access to the job market, it has nothing to do with learning. It’s about keeping workers in debt so they are desperate and insecure.

So, if students want to cheat, that’s exactly what this horrible system deserves. When we have no doctors left because all the old ones retired, oh well!
