People can get weird about dogs. I’m uncomfortable around them because I’m autistic and having them jump all over me and bark is a sensory overload nightmare, and my brother got mauled by a neighbor’s dog so badly he had to go to the hospital, but some people take my unease as proof that I’m Satan incarnate.
EDIT: Also I dunno why it happens, but I swear dogs hate me lmao. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve heard “I don’t know what’s gotten into him, he’s not usually like this” while a dog is barking at me like I’m a Terminator.
Dogs read microexpressions and like you said a lot of psychos become uneasy when someone isn’t into dogs so their dog realizes the owner is uneasy and thinks they perceive you as a threat.
