Not OP but while Spielberg directed Last Crusade, the film was written by Jeffrey Boam, George Lucas, and Menno Meyjes. Lucas clearly had a strong influence beyond just the writing as well, judging by things like the R2D2 hidden in the hieroglyphics in the first movie and the Club Obi Wan in the second.
That was Spielberg not George.

Directed by Spielberg but George co-wrote and actually created the idea for the character too.
