I feel confident people would have hated had George made the sequel trilogy. Of course what we got wasn’t great so why not.
One such plot point would have been about the “Will of the Force”, no wait I spelt that wrong, “Whills of the Force”. Basically Midochlorians, you know the measurable force in a person, talk with Whills, a microscopic organism, and that’s how the Force works.
Whills would need a wacky voice. you know, for the kids.
Looks a lot like the DNA character from
JurassicCretaceous Park.
They show up in Clone Wars, and I wouldn’t say they ruin Star Wars. They’re a whole lot better writing than Rey being a Palpatine yet deciding to call herself a Skywalker at least…
I don’t think we get the “Whills” in Clone Wars but we do get the Brother, Sister and Father, which do expand the larger Force mythos. Then in Rebels we get the Bendu and World Between Worlds which expand it further.
And honestly I ultimately completely agree. Lucas noticed and ultimately picked up Filoni as someone to carry on the Star Wars legacy. Filoni is far from perfect but he was an excellent choice to carry on Star Wars when Lucas first found him. I think he’s also an excellent choice now, but I think in a world where Lucas doesn’t sell Star Wars I think working with Filoni they create an interesting future.
You look at how Filoni ultimately created an excellent Clone Wars, filling in the gaps between Episode 2 and Episode 3, greatly improving that story. If Lucas creates a sequel trilogy on par with the prequel trilogy, I bet Filoni can fill in the gaps.
