In terms of twist/future I’m guessing the kid is also a Manhunter or at least something Zoe-Manhunter wanted to keep alive and secret. Just before Antaan killed Will Macon he talked about children, which is weirdly specific from a show standpoint if we’re not supposed to think about it. Plus all the extra effort Zoe went through to ensure the kid was safe and giving him a little speech.

Also we technically haven’t seen the Manhunter do anything bad. Zoe admitted this episode she killed Abin Sur and John got to feel infinite pain a few episodes back… But I feel like we should get a bit more about how terrible they supposedly are. People just want to kill Zoe and she doesn’t want to die.

Also when Antaan killed Will he said the real Manhunter wouldn’t welcome death… But Zoe seems fine with it once she realizes John has the upper hand. I would have liked a little more panic from Zoe in that moment.

Sure but Superman still has to learn to be Superman.

Since I’ve been rewatching it recently, let’s look at Young Justice Superman. He suddenly has a “son”/clone of himself and he doesn’t know how to handle it. It takes Batman to help him figure it out.

Corenswet Superman is annoyed with Lois because he knows he’s right and she knows he’s right but she’s still pretending that he isn’t. We could argue that it’s more complicated than that and that’s exactly what the Justice Gang do when they refuse to help but ultimately… Superman was right and they show up to help when he can’t. He inspired action from inaction.

Corenswet Superman does love being Superman, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t struggle with the responsibility.

I mean he’s only had a few minutes of screen time so far. As rumoured we’re supposed to get a Hal centered episode similar to the John centered episode, so he might get a lot of time to shine.

Plus you don’t need a lot of screen time to be excellent.

Re The Orville,

As I understand he’s now at least written all the episodes for the next season, now it’s just a matter of getting everything together (the equally hard part).

I thought he would stick with The Orville on a regular basis, but maybe once you achieve your dream it’s easy to start looking at other projects.

Paramount called his bluff on the Ted live action series (he would only do it if they could have movie level budget for CGI Ted, and they did, for two seasons at least). So I think he jumped at that since it seemed like a limited time offer.

Plus now he’s diving back into animation with a Stewie spin-off show and a Ted animated show.

I do hope we get Orville season 4 someday, especially with Star Trek coming to an end (for now).

Overall I’m definitely impressed with the content Apple has put out. I hesitate to say HBO has lost their magic, but I could see someone prefer Apple’s offerings over HBO’s, especially if we only look at recent and not the full backlog.

I think HBO is still putting out a lot of prestige TV (The Pitt, DTF St Louis, Hacks, Lanterns, HOTD, AKotSK, etc), but Apple is definitely putting out hit after hit after hit (Widow’s Bay, Shrinking, Slow Horses, Margo’s Got Money Troubles, etc).

Both are going to win big this weekend at the Emmys.

He was great as Sam in Gen V. I think Angel will be a great role for him, I can definitely see parts of Sam translating well over to Angel.
