Helen Mirren could definitely use a comic redemption after Shazam 2.
What’s interesting is I think Helen Mirren could play the villain part really well, but I can’t think of “Goodness” roles she’s played. I’m sure she could do it, but no role comes to mind.
Conversely, I think Jamie Lee Curtis could do the “Goodness” role, but I struggle to see her as a villain. An antagonist, absolutely, but villainous, I’m not sure.

If I only had a Switch or Switch 2, there are advantages to buying handheld versus a PC/Xbox/PlayStation.
With the new Xbox handheld thing that likely further cuts into the handheld market and unique feature of the Switch.
MimicJar@lemmy.worldMto Television@piefed.social•‘Abbott Elementary’ Star William Stanford Davis Wants More Actors to Say ‘No’6·20 hours agoDavis cited a test he gave while teaching acting classes in Los Angeles, where he asked students if they were willing to do nudity. Many, as he said, immediately responded, “Oh, yeah, sure,” but to Davis, this meant, “They didn’t think about the question.” If they’re willing to do nudity, that’s absolutely fine, but not even trying to understand why your character might strip down indicates they would “do anything for a job.” Instead of just saying yes to everything, actors should consider why they’re the best fit for a role and use that to guide their choices instead.
Emphasis mine. So basically he’s just saying don’t apply to every role, pick the roles that you know you’re the best at, the roles where you can really “Wow” the casting/director.
I think that’s fair, but I imagine that’s difficult when you have no job and are looking for a job. Especially so if it’s your first few jobs and you don’t have much of an acting reel yet.
(correct.)
Norman Osbourn unavailable for comment.
But seriously looking over his TV and film history looks like he was in a handful of things over the years, but Spider-Man is definitely where I know him from. Looks like he had a good long life, rest in peace.
Because AI is a solution in search of a problem. The current plan is to just put it in everything and hope one of them is better as a result. It’s not the worst plan, because eventually some combination of things is likely to be useful, but it means a lot of useless shit will be slapped together. Of course it’s also far from a great plan, because it means a lot of useless shit will e slapped together.

MimicJar@lemmy.worldOPMto The Simpsons@lemmy.world•That points campaign may have crossed a line [Hard]English2·1 day agoNo one beats MARGE! Correct!
Margo Martindale.
She plays the sweet mother/grandmother role so well she is my favorite choice. Think Dewey Cox’s mother.
I’ve seen her in The Leftovers and I’ve heard great things about her in Justified, so it think taking on a more villainous role is well within her skill set.
I think she would also be the best in terms of character reveal.
Glenn Close.
I think she has the right look and she was in Guardians of the Galaxy, so clearly not against being in comic book films.
I don’t think she’s played a villain in a while, but as Cruella from years ago, she can do it.
I’ve seen that guy on TV!

It looks like Threads doesn’t actually do “hashtags”, but they do tags. If you search Threads you can find things previously tagged with “Daredevil Watch Party”.
Also, putting on my Mod hat, we’ll have discussion threads set up for each episode.

Nintendo consoles are for Nintendo games. Non Nintendo games on Nintendo consoles are a nice bonus, but only when looking at the lifetime of the console and not the launch.

It’s funny when he mentions things he doesn’t know if he can talk about yet, because he’s the dude. It’s the classic “someone will kill me if I say it”, but he’s the someone.
I think “Ray” could have worked. “Regarding Raymond” sounds pompous for some reason and “Guy Named Ray” just doesn’t have the right flow that it looks like it has.
It course, based on the article, I get the feeling any version of “Ray/Raymond” was the issue. Probably wanted something like, “Married with Children” or “Family Matters”, something family without saying the name Ray.
Of course given that the show is mostly jokes at Raymonds expense, I think “Everybody Loves Raymond” works well.
