You can technically pay the tariffs and drive them around in some states. I know I was looking at buying a BYD in Toronto once those dealerships opened up. But NY doesn’t allow you to drive on Canadian dealer plates for long and BYD’s literally have a 17 digit VIN that doesn’t fit into the text boxes for car registrations. They literally can’t register one in NY because the computer won’t accept the full VIN. It’s just not compatible.

The standard xiaomi SU7 EV sedan, not the 1,500hp version, has the following:

They will adjust the price for the US market. Cars in Mexico are priced far below those across the border.
