      I still don’t understand. Is Ohm helping at all or just being an asshole?

      Lets imagine for a second we are using the circuit for a fan. The fan itself is going to have ohms because, by definition anything that is using the electricity to do anything, is going to slow the flow of amps.

      But then imagine you make the circuit, and you realize that the fan is spinning so fast the blades are falling off. Well then you’d need to add a resistor, to put more ohms into the circuit, so that less amps are getting to the fans. amps = Voltage/Resistance (ohms)

      Ohms are the resistance of the thing that the electricity is going through. I dno why, but electronics have a lot of things that make ohms. They are called resistors.
      I think it’s because of you make something with a lot of ohms, and then turn it on or off it can act like a switch. Or something.

        If you don’t put any ohm at all, miss amp just gets pushed all the way through the tube really fast without doing anything. Like if the next part of the tube is an LED, all that amp coming through would make it glow way too bright and then explode or something.

        There’s a second thing you can do with two ohms. If you line up two ohms one after the other, then a little volt appears in the chamber in the middle between them. But miss middle volt is a smaller version of the big volt, and her size depends on how tight your ohms are relative to each other.

        Resistors don’t make switches; transistors (among other things) do, though resistors are used as a component part. Long story short: Essentially you don’t always (or even most of the time) want as much current as possible; sometimes you want to limit your current and for that you need resistors. This can be used to split a current between two or more wires (the wire with the bigger resistance will get less current and vice versa), or it might just be to prevent a short circuit (too much current will fry or melt whatever you’re passing it through because circuitry consumes power as heat), but the point is that the amount of current you want passing through a wire or circuit isn’t always “all of it,” so you have to use resistors.

    That’s not the only way to arrange Ohm’s Law though, so we’re gonna need more anime girl diagrams… Obviously. For, uh, science!

      A method as old as time. Ask someone who studied electronics about 20 years ago, ask anyone from that era or earlier how they remember the color code for resistors. I haven’t done anything electronic wise literally since tech school electronics class, but I remember the mnemonic, and can say, most people who have studied that that I’ve talked to, know the same (or very similar) ones.
