That roof awning will pass on staying up before this fuckup settles.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•I just want juice, is that so much to ask?English
7·5 hours agoPart of this I believe can be attributed to labelling rules. Only the concentrate portion can be called juice.
When it is made from concentrate the reconstituting water is the main ingredient. What’s shitty is that water gets more and more sugar/HFCS mixed in so less concentrate is used. Getting it down to 10% or less like that: it’s just flavoring the corn.

The AI uses em dashes because people used em dashes.
I got paid $9 an hour to hose down the furniture in the alzheimer’s wing of one of those places. Man those places are bleak.

1·21 hours agoThat’s all within the mindset he operates. To him, popular people all have haters, so it takes something like public pressure to get through that dismissal.

4·1 day agoIt’s the Street Fighter 2 to Street Fighter 1.
There are about a half dozen new mechanics woven into the game.
They learned a little from Balatro, added some questlines like FTL, and added a whole multiplayer component.

181·1 day agoThere’s much less direct military funding and support fueling Sudan so most people have no real outlet or mechanism for addressing it beyond support for humanitarian aid efforts and the UN.
There’s not an easily identified or direct policy that can be pointed at, as if an actor were receiving billions direct military aid and support. Like, even Israel is split on which side they’re supporting. Ukraine and Russia alike have supported opposition to the RSF.

3·1 day agoThe only thing he cares and responds to out of politicians is popularity.
Public pressure works because that’s how Trump operates. There are plenty of elected officials with zero inclination to respond to public opinion whatsoever.
This is the one tool people have had with him.

Clearly Obi-Wan is the master of the High Ground. He knows its strengths and weaknesses as second nature enough to exploit as he needed.
Anakin and Maul had no chance.
*edit To add: Obi-Wan gets caught in a fight on flat ground in front of Luke? Just gives up.
A landlord cannot just come on top the lawn and start ripping it up without the tenant’s permission.
On one hand, yes. On the other hand that’s only as enforceable as a tenant can fight it.
In practice it happens. Unless the tenant has the resources or there’s a legal advocacy group dedicated to that specific issue, owners tend to be able to do whatever they want so long as they use the argument of ‘protecting my property’.
The settlement and restitution just ends up something like the owner keeps their stuff there and maybe you get to terminate your lease tomorrow without being forced to pay out the whole eight remaining months of the lease. But that’s anecdotal.
Most stores are tenants of a landlord. Even those Walmart warehouses are leased, often both in land and structure.

“Communism is when centrally planned economy” is quite the premise to build upon.
