A show about the beginnings of the Federation is interesting in the abstract, but making it A) an Enterprise spinoff, and B) by current Paramount seems like it would be in a lot of danger of fucking it up
plus they’ve tried it multiple times with enteprise, discovery and strange new worlds and their success rate is so bad that the discovery just said “fuck it” and jumped ahead into uncharted territory in the 32nd century.
I gave up on Discovery before the time jump. Academy is set in that 32nd century era and is pretty good, but a big part of that goodness comes from the theme of the kids rejecting and growing beyond the whole “adults in the room making hard choices” shit that, out of universe, made the bad parts of this current Trek era so bad, and in universe is represented by The Burn.
the only star trek show they should make is Captain Worf, and it should open with a time travel episode preventing the 2009 movie from happening. And by that i mean both the story and the actual film.
