A cynical view maybe, but imo Its great optics for them, like when Cuba cured the blindness of the guy who murdered Che

Even if these vets are likely war criminals who should be in prison, prisoners still deserve medical care, and it’s not as if they’re now in a position to re-enlist and commit more atrocities because China fixed them up Cold comfort to their victims of course, the ‘game’ of geopolitics requires cynicism and pragmatism unfortunatley

Damn, I kinda wish they cured his blindness and then executed him.

He took the life of one of the greatest revolutionaries to ever live. Feels like he got off easy

For sure, but it boosts Cuba’s humanitrian cred internationally which is better in the long run that a single septeginarian getting his comeuppance

Similar to the CPC sparing and rehabilitating Puyi, even though he deserved death for his collaboration with the Japanese among many other crimes
the value of proving the humanatrian nature of the party/state/ideology is simply of greater value than the catharsis of just punishment on an individual
(some may argue the deterrence is of greater value but studies show that the severity of punishment has no bearing on the choice to commit a crime)

You’re right. The revolutionaries who actually carried out a revolution and built socialism knew better. I’m glad there are level headed people like that and yourself who can think rationally and make the right call.

I saw he killed Che and immediately saw red. Goes to show I’ve a lot of learning and growing to do still

Not strictly. Army is bad. But there is people who get tricked into it. Those people who turn into leftist are some of the most die hards you’ll find. By treating veterans specifically it could actually be very helpful with changing public opinion. Lot harder to arguing with a veteran when you still prop them up. My friends fuck with liberals all the time knowing this.

Have you considered they wouldn’t have to be seeking Chinese aid if you just gave your veterans healthcare?

The media owners editorializing and the writers willing to put their fucking names to this deserve to be like, okay, imagine the most fucked up chauvinistic inaccurate western depictions of mesoamerican human sacrifice, they deserve that but somehow slightly worse. I will cheer and laugh and dance and cry as their blood rains down knowing that i will never have to hear such fucking absurd accusations ever again and in that moment i know i will feel hope for the future for the first time

Chinese medical teams are treating U.S. veterans while gathering intelligence.

Yeah bud, that’s basic espionage. Every country does that all of the time.

No, but the movies assured me that spies are always doing cool action shit and blowing stuff up while wearing a suit! You mean to tell me that most spying is just being nice people with information and then getting them to reveal that information to you because you were nice to them? meow-tableflip

Super good sign for the future of the country that “have you considered not intentionally being a massive piece of shit at literally every opportunity” is a superior foreign policy than whatever were doing.

Obviously this is the Chinese trying to extract the 6g microchips from our brave boys in brown. The great industrialist bill gates has spent countless hours implanting these himself and these Chinese doctors are just stealing proprietary technology.
