These hyper processed face shots are so creepy, like these people want to look like they live in the uncanny valley.

Someone else called the comparison in the original thread. He has the absurdist dark-wholesome vibe of a Tim Heidecker or Tim Robinson character. I tried to grab the exact expression which would lend itself most to a “Reddit moderators WILL be treated like celebrities or influencers” Joker edit.

I’m gonna pick the mean dialogue choice and watch as he frowns angrily at me while going on a diatribe about his superiority

Then I’ll just mag-dump a mini gun into him

Why does he look like a cleaner but yet also worse version of a certain lemmy world mod?

I’m all for bashing reddit/lemmit mods, but I don’t think it’s productive to attach this fellow’s face to it because it will immediately be used like pol face.

I haven’t made a emoji out of the other meme images of stereotypical mods for that reason. If the source of the image is just someone who looks funny, it will be used to bash people who look like that more than it is to bash people who think like the thing we’re attacking.

With this one I put it in the same kind of category as meemaw. She looks funny, but we have her over any other elderly person because she’s an antimask protestor raiding the US capitol. This guy was the lead moderator of a big anticommunist subreddit that is most noted for constantly harassing ones related to left-wing streamers. He tried to scam his userbase and when removed by the admins did this 20 minute melodramatic thermonuclear video manifesto calling for the other mods to rise up. The context behind it makes it something beyond just a nerd stereotype that would be used to blindly attack nerds like me, especially with me moderating way too many subreddits.

edit: And doing this exact thing during the moderator blackout protests a couple years ago. This image is me staring into the abyss and it staring back.
