OP, in the comments, describing what kicked this off:

The code on your disk is 100% correct, but the browser is definitely running an old version (the error you see is impossible with the current code). This happens when the Vite cache gets stuck.

Please do this to force a clean start:

    1. Stop the servers (Ctrl+C).
    2. Go to d:\ETSY 2025\Antigravity Projects\Image Selector\client\node_modules  and delete the .vite  folder.
    3. Restart the servers (npm start  in server, npm run dev  in client).
    4. Hard refresh the browser (Ctrl+Shift+R).

This will force Vite to re-bundle the code and pick up the fix. The app should then work perfectly.

ME: I don’t understand the step 3. Can you do it for me

all because they couldn’t type npm start into a terminal i-cant

Vibe coders will definitely steal real jobs. We just need 100B$ to fix this one issue.

These people treat AI the same way they treat tech support. Carefully written step by step list with links to detailed descriptions of each step? I ain’t reading all that - why can’t you just do it for me?

I remember seeing someone talking about how they’re a vibe coder on here in the past and I think we successfully bullied them off

I decided not to get back into software dev after my team got let go a few years ago, and every day since then I feel more and more like that was the right decision.

Eh it occasionally speeds up some boilerplate stuff but you should use it sparingly.

Of course anybody that claims they can build production grade services and/or apps without writing or reviewing any code manually is a grifter dipshit that has no clue how any of these things actually work.

Although it isn’t surprising that someone who can’t even learn the most common western language would let AI delete all of their data.

Yep this is Reddit as I know it.

Pardon my impudence, but is this not a variant of the sudo rm -rf technique developed by the infamous h4X0r known as Four Chan to pwn n00bs on the interwebs of yore?

And now, with the power of AI trained on reddit, everyone gets to experience it firsthand!

Ah, the classics! Truly, they bring a tear to mine ancient eyes …
