California governor. Got rich from Daddy’s wine empire, started up as San Francisco Mayor back in 2005? It’s well known in California he wants to be President since 2015, at least. He’s a very Obama-esque, corporate Democrat doing everything to hurt progressive policies while saying all the right sounding things.
I will, unfortunately, say his public speaking and PR is incredibly good. I fucking hate this dude, but it’s true. Watch some of the debate with Ron DeSantis and you’ll quickly see what I mean.
edit: Also anecdote: Kamala Harris fucking hates Newsom. They were both going for Governor at the same time back in 2017,2018. He did some rat fuck shit with the California DNC and became the front-runner.

As far as Republicans go he might be the least ghoulish one. Maybe it’s my nostalgia for him in the 80s and 90s growing up but he seems to be at least genuine and kinda cool.

His self-improvement shtick is at least clearly genuine. When he talks to people about fitness he sincerely cares about the topic and their improvement, this carries over and makes it feel like he cares about people in general.

What’s more interesting though is Newsom used to be married to Kimberly Guilfoyle, who was Trump’s fundraising chief, was Don Jr’s fiancee, and is about to be the US ambassador to Greece. All these people know one another and we’re forced to live as spectators to their little club.
Guilfoyle breaking up with Newsom to get with Don Jr illustrates how little of a difference there is between the dems and republicans better than any piece of theory could.
