      “Combat-aged men” is there to “counter” the accusation that Israel targets entire families as well as normalize violence against “acceptable” targets.

      It’s why I’m against the usage of “women and children”, even if I understand the place that’s coming from. Once you dehumanize Palestinian men, it’s not hard to write off their sisters, mothers, wives, and children.

      Notice how they use a proportional figure to contrast a fixed number. Even if true it means 28% of victims were children. The death toll is currently of 50 000. 28% of 50 000 is exactly 14 000. That’s how stupid their propaganda is

      It’s a slimy phrase started IIRC under Obama to justify killing teenage boys. “Combat aged” is used to make “Ummm, ackshually, he could have had a gun hehehe checkmate terrorists!” arguments.

      Yes, but that’s not the category they care about. Killing civilians is fine as long as they are of age.
