Or, I could always go with the old George Carlin joke of ‘honk if your horn is broken.’ No one has car with a broken horn any longer so I think that will go over like a lead balloon. My experiences in the US have basically all just confirmed that all your rights are dependent on you being visibly strapped to scare off fascists, otherwise you have no rights.

with all the ALPR and panopticon bullshit, i would go the opposite direction and debadge/anonymize whatever i could until the car was an unremarkable, not noteworthy, non-descript blob with a lighter shade of plastidip covering a darker coat of paint, and a multiple sets of plates + a drill behind a panel.
i wanna be able to do this the minute anything seems hinky.

yeah, that’s the idea. all the cars are doing convergent evolution anyway, in appearance. not functionally of course, you need the special dealer only part at 100x markup to not brick it, but they’re all the same type of blob. that’s why the keep increasing the size of the make badge so you know it’s a Ford (Escape) and not a Mazda (Tribute).
might as well lean into it, get the gunmetal grey crossover hatchback and tweak it with a generic-as-fuck front grill from some aftermarket online retailer until just looks like the blob the designers intended it to be.
anyway, debadging interferes with fingerprinting automation by introducing an extra layer to the “model” and “other visible characteristics” that flock et al use to generate an identifying constellation of attributes. cops are certainly relying on automation at this point. one could also use magnetized badges to switch things around periodically.
