Honestly, I mostly see capitalism as a religion. It provides a narrative about the meaning of life. It provides rules that it’s followers should adhere to. It provides goals, restrictions, and social orders. It defines it’s own ethics, worldviews, texts, doctrines, and priorities.

I’ll make it simple for you: essentially every major conflict man has ever experienced has been the result of one group deciding that their sky genie is better than another group’s, so that means it’s alright to kill them. Even the ones that preach love and acceptance put a giant fucking asterisk on it. Buddhism is the only real exception, and that’s because it’s not even a religion in the same way the others are.
