Mr. Toad has been living in my back yard for around 7 years. I see him close to daily all summer. He keeps the spiders and and other bugs down under my house. He’s a really good friend.
When it gets too hot he goes for a swim in the koi pond.

In Australia they’re a massive invasive species. Maybe invasive is the wrong word, since they were introduced to eat the cane beatle. Decided that was to much effort and just terrorise everything else.
When I was a kid they were 3000kms away now they’re in my town and on the march too Western Australia
I believe he is a western toad. They are quite common in this area and have a very broad range of habitats they survive in.
The cane toad is just building its army up, and soon they will go to war…WITH THE EMUS!!!

Dope ass amphibian! Just keep in mind their skin is permeable, so soaps, oils, etc on your hand when you pick them up can make them sick.

my dog finds these all the time. luckily she knows animals are friends not food but she wants to sniff the hell out of everything she meets. Man she can be strong when she really wants to do something.
