Thank you for the reminder to disengage, I just wanted to state publicly why the troll was wrong in case anybody else here is confused by me having such a strong reaction.
I don’t go around hating on movie and tv show threads just because I don’t like the opinions of the creators, that framing trivializes the very real harm being caused by JK Rowling and her pathetic transphobia.
JK Rowling is an immensely, stupendously powerful person and what does she choose to do with that power?
She uses it to pick on vulnerable young adults who are already stigmatized by their society, how pathetic and weird is that?
This is not something we can tolerate powerful people doing, yes it sucks that so many people loved Harry Potter but the reality is the reality, JK Rowling needs to be cast out of cultural relevance. Real trans people under real threat are more important than our nostalgic attachment to a fake wizard school.
