My dog went down during a walk on Christmas Eve in 2021. At the emergency vet, they did some tests and imaging to determine she had a splenic tumor that had caused her spleen to burst. As they were prepping her for surgery, the tumor itself burst open. They were able to remove the tumor and repair the damage but she had to have multiple blood transfusions

She’s now a happy, healthy nearly 15-year-old dog. She wouldn’t have made it without the transfusions.

i think its probably positive to make the decision for healthy dogs, to take their blood to a responsible extend, forcing them (or allowing them) to participate in a higher act of solidarity and mutual aide than they can comprehend, … but i also think its still blood stealing and the post is funny

also appy doggo made it :3

I’m glad she made it through that. My dog is getting older and most of my meager savings right now are going to an emergency fund if something happens to him.

Completely agree with the sane person pointing out the dog doesn’t know what’s going on other than head pats and belly rubs. Completely disagree with the fools claiming the dog’s blood was stolen. Sheesh, people, they just borrowed it with no intention of return.

I think it’s the sudden vibe shift that willy wonka edit introduces? That’s what made me laugh anyway
