“random brutality is really common in china the people there are just inherently fucked up” - person who’s probably living in the only country on earth where mass shootings are a common occurence

goes to show how extremely easy it is to get people to believe pretty much anything that reinforces their preconceived biases

see also: the ridiculous lie that the DPRK is some wacky hermit kingdom ruled by a guy that will execute you by flak gun in front of baying crowds for both having and not having the same haircut as him

It’s also frustrating because it doesn’t ever go in the opposite direction, people can be made to believe that the “evil enemy” are all inhuman monsters committing brutal acts of violence a dozen times a day, but no amount of evidence or just basic common sense can get them to admit that people in other countries are just regular people like them.

I appreciate the word ‘‘expat’’ because it’s telling on themselves 8 out of 10. Leaving 2 for those rare cases of not knowing a better word for themselves and those still trying to integrate.

Its classic “expat” bullshit too. The type of opinion you can only hold after that long if you lived in an insular bubble of fellow westerners and never made friends with any Chinese people. Like, literally one friendly fucking conversation should shatter this sort of ignorant perspective.

So “Sevy Verna” is a name related to the Tonybee tiles, claimed to be the creator of them, a strange set of graffiti tiles that appeared in Philidelphia and other US cities with very vague messages about Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey” resurrecting the dead on the planet Jupiter. Kubrick is often accused of secretly filming the fake moon landing and 2001 was his “coded confession” about that (it’s a space movie, and where is the moon? That’s right. Space.) And of course, like any good conspiracy theory, they often blame the Jews for faking the moon landing for…reasons.

All this to say, mr WankstainMcRacist88 over here has a very subtle dogwhistle in his name, linking it to conspiracy theory stuff, that would’ve completely flown under my radar had he not also included the 88 there. They really can’t help themselves. Though I suppose, PublicFreakout is one of those subreddits that probably bans you if you don’t have a nazi dogwhistle in your name, so it isn’t surprising.

thats what i always tell these people. wtf do they think a “credit score” is? it dictates where you can live, where you can work, what privileges you’re afforded, and by extension of all those what people you’re even able to interact with

all the scary shit they make up about china or any other country really is just daily life in america

like all this shit going on in Argentina right now, not that its made up. its horrible but that shit is just daily life in america and i see americans being like “wow i cant believe their government would do that”. YOU OF ALL PEOPLE KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE

      • I saw the headlines the other day about how millions of Argentinians are taking out loans to buy food, which is what most credit card debt in the US is right now. People HERE can’t afford to buy food with cash on hand so they are taking out loans to buy it. But that’s just normal so rich yuppies in the suburbs don’t think about it

  • i lived in China for 25 years. i worked at my father’s tub and tile business is Shreeveport, China. the people there are terrible, all 1.5 Billion of them.

my father was a great and powerful leader until these peasants stole his tub monopoly, granted to him by my great, great grandfather who was Chiang Kai Shek’s 2nd favorite interrogator.

as a 14 year old, i know more about China than anyone in America. they are monsters and everyone is killing each other for a McDonald’s or a chocolate because the United States is #1.

    Sincerely,
    Hunter Preston Li

  • You know these honestly read like bots. Not that there aren’t millions of morons believing this but lately it feels like more and more bots chatting with each other. This shit sounds so god damn made up for anyone that isn’t believing in blatant anti-chinese propaganda (which is pretty rare for westoids ngl).

yeah i agree with you. this is something i also tell myself to hold onto my sanity. i know there are lots of people actually like this but a lot of the shit we see online is definitely one bot arguing with another
