The one Jared Leto role I liked was in Requiem for a Dream. The only other tolerable one was in Blade Runner 2049. In the first, his performance is mostly good because of his face. It’s the same kind of charismatic vulnerability that makes an effective cult leader. In Blade Runner, it’s a similar kind of facially-driven performance that they highlight even more by giving him sad robot eyes. You hire Jared Leto when you want melancholy but you can’t get an actor who conveys that through their acting.

I think he got his brain broken as a kid by being a child star and probably weird shit at home which is why he and his brother get strange about their childhood stories- which are often made up. Once he became a TV heart throb though I think he utilized that fame to act essentially as a pimp selling his fans to executives and other hollywood creeps, and in the same way that the perverted socialites who hung out with Epstein said he was a genius mathematician, these insist that Leto is a charming, talented performer

He won an Oscar that one time, is a well known name, and seems to just refuse to say no to money. Johnny Depp was still getting roles regularly until the DV trial despite being just as toxic if not more and having had no decent roles since Pirates.
