You might be able to argue that the shooting originally was not state sponsored terrorism. (I would say yes, but there is an argument there)

But once the President and VP and HS Sec. tell you to not believe what we all can see on video, once the investigation in quashed, once the response becomes higher ICE presence instead of de-escalation, then it becomes state sponsored terrorism. Even steelmanning it, I cannot see a reasonable argument against that.

What is he even doing on his show?

E: And yes, it is state sponsored terrorism. They’re legit terrorising people. They’re doing things against the constitution. Against the law.

Yep. Same strategy as Hillary Clinton, same strategy as Kamala Harris. It’s a real winning strategy he’s got there.

The problem is it’s not obvious that it won’t work. Being a black women all else being equal loses you easily 5 percent of votes on its own. That’s an election. Newsome is a tall handsome white dude. People won’t have trouble “seeing him behind the desk”.

Trump and MAGA , in the midst of destroying the country , are also dragging the Overton window further right. The shittier they behave, the less the DNC feels the need for any radical change. Unfortunately, they could easily be right.

The problem is that centrists don’t care if it doesn’t work, as long as progressives aren’t allowed to run.

If it weren’t for covid, Joe Biden would have lost in 2020.

Newsome is younger yes. But he carries the same attitude towards policy as Joe Biden. And he won’t be running against Trump who is also old. He’ll be running against somebody like JD Vance who is in the same age bracket (or younger I’m not even sure how old that couch fucker is).

And even then, he had to promise a bunch of shit he never intended to do in order to get the left on board.

Which he then (surprise!) didn’t do, which killed the party’s credibility.

I personally think there’s going to be at least an attempt at a palace coup by Ron DeSantis once Trump is gone. He’s getting older, and he’s ambitious. I’m pretty sure he’ll beat Vance if he gets any momentum.

Eh I feel like he’s a broken reed at this point. Abbott is a much stronger challenger but then again i doubt he’d be able to win nationally.

I don’t think Newsom has a chance in hell of winning the Democratic primary. Calling him the “frontrunner” is just fluff, the primaries are still over two years away

I have no love for Newsom, and don’t doubt this post’s premise, but the video also cuts off before he actually gets to respond; it just shows him nodding along saying “yup” as Ben is talking before (presumably) responding with actual words. I’m curious what was actually said when it was his turn to speak.

Which again is a problem as it’s newsoms own fucking podcast where again he brings in and agrees with a massive right wing idiot influencer. He is more than happy to agree with Ben than implement things his citizens want or have voted for

If Gavin Newsom is the person the Democratic party chooses for their nominee I will not be voting. I do not fucking care. Having him will be exactly the same as having JD Vance or whoever the fuck the Republicans throw up into their slot.

I hope it’s not familiar. I hope they learn that running these kind of candidates will lead to defeat instead of just losing every time like idiots.

I got out and voted for both Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris in the general election for President. We’re still in the situation we’re in right now.

At some point the Democratic party needs to be forced to realize that appealing to the right is not going to win them anything.

I don’t think being the only one making it incredibly obvious he’s trying to pander because he wants to run, makes him a favorite by default. He’s still shit
