idk why apple in particular always has to do this but corey doctorow says apps are always like this because it makes people spend more time in your shitty app if they keep having to relearn how to use it
Isn’t supposed to be more modular and adaptable too? Would think they’d have more options for moving UI features like that to the user’s liking if they’re going to go this way.
I’ve activated “reduce transparency” and “increase contrast” in the accessibility settings so that it looks less like shit, and it’s still transparent! what the fuck? When this computer dies I’m getting a Linux laptop…
You might want to look into Asahi Linux, it’s pretty cool! It runs natively on Apple Silicon Macs and it seems to work reasonably well for such a small project. I’ve never used it myself though, so ymmv.
Thank you for the suggestion, I’ll look into it. Although I’ve never used any Linux device before so I hope this one is good for total newbies like me.
It’s “here be the monsters” territory running it on newer chips than M2 due to reverse engineered drivers.
Oh okay; I have an M2 device, but perhaps I shouldn’t start my Linux learning experience on this computer then…
