I’ve seen a few users here say something about how the stripping of the copperwiring of the US state by the US state is a conscious decision, made to develop a new economic stage. I think they’re wrong.
That’s what would’ve happened if Kamala got into office, maybe. What’s happening here is that Elon Musk is near the levers of power and Trump likes to golf. “Don’t attribute to malice what can be attributed to incompetence” is a bullshit redditism, but with Elon there’s something to it. Don’t attribute to strategy what can be explained by dipshittery.
The guy took over a massive social media site, one of the main components of manufacturing consent in the modern era and all he could do was make the public hate him. What you’re seeing is the Liz Truss of the USA. Javier Milei of the USA. They’re not always masterminds, sometimes they’re just stupid. The current generation of rulers are people who have drunk the kool-aid of capitalist propaganda. They actually think money = merit and that socialism is when the government does stuff
I don’t expect Musk to know what he is doing, but I find it odd that there isn’t someone who knows what they are doing in a position to stop him. It just seems strange to me that there is no one stopping this unless everyone who could stop it isn’t because they personally benefit. That isn’t too far-fetched, this is the US kleptocratic class in charge after all, but it just kind of seems so strange to me that they seem to be making every single worst possible decision. It almost feels unsatisfying, though I guess that is real life, it doesn’t have to make sense.
Anyone who doubts that the capitalists could be this stupid, just look at the late Qing dynasty for comparison.
Hundreds of years of monarchist rule under the dynasty, thousands of years of feudalism, and historically one of the strongest powers eve collapsed because the late stage rulers lacked the ability to reform their way out of long term contradictions.
Shit it’s worse than milei. At least with him one could say Argentina’s economy has been in dire straits and he’s trying something different and he got some line goes up wins like the budget surplus. Now obviously everything else is gone to shit. With elon? You got virtually no reason to be doing this unless you’re actively trying to sabotage the economy

Edit: I originally intended to make some joke underneath that but I got distracted and apparently accidentally hit post so I’m just gonna leave the joke as an exercise for the reader.
Same energy as that Italian dude that sold a “mental sculpture” for hundreds of thousands
three branches of US government
Lobbyists: write the bills
Staffers: read the bills
Elected officials: come up with zinger titles
Somehow I don’t remember that from I’m Just a Bill.
Maybe they could put 50% of the mental calories they’re dedicating to reverse-engineering acronyms toward like stopping the nazi problem
Right?? So fucking cringe to think about them patting themselves on the back about this.
“Yes, the world was destroyed, but we made some preeetty clever acronyms and what else could we do?”
Ah, but that would require a spine. None of those at the DNC!
just shoot him with a gun like the adults you’re supposed to be
Do normal countries make so many dumb acronyms?
And if so, are there any worse ones?
The only redeeming thing of it is that it’s against musk
I mean sometimes yeah, but the USAs are always extra stupid sounding.
I always hear POTUS and SCOTUS and think, oh no that sounds like an illness or some kind of slur.
If someone called me SCOTUS I’s be like “The fuck you just call me?”
Got a bad case of scotus all over my ass.
Scotus sounds like scrotum to me
SCROTUS
same… i pretty much always see that
the POTUS and FLOTUS gave the SCOTUS a LOTUS
I left a FLOTUS in the toilet bowl
No, normal countries do completely boring things like call bills Bill F-82: Miscellaneous statute laws related to owning extra large pairs of shorts in 2023.
Ours start with “C-” because Canada
Smart. That way if you forget what country you’re making laws for, you have an easy way to remember
Ooh, ours could start with “A-” for America
The F-82 anti JNCO Jorts bill was harsh, but not uncalled for.
I pulled up the most recent law on the Danish law portal. It’s title is:
Law on independent declaration providers regarding sustainability reporting
Very boring and bureaucratic.
The wacky shit comes immediately after the title:
We FREDERIK THE TENTH, by the Grace of God Denmark’s King proclaim:
Parliament has passed and We have by Our consent ratified the following Law:
Which seems like way too much bombast to have immediately after that title.
If you wanna see the real wacky stuff you gotta go to the citizens proposals. They’re always good fun
Lets see you “well, nevertheless” your way out of— well, nevertheless
Holy fuck I thought that title was a bit.
Somebody kill me please end this nightmare.
deeply unserious
How bout you democrats and every other remaining person of good will become 2nd amendment enthusiasts? Instead of this feckless bs?
Do appreciate the acronym though
wtf i love backronyms now
