You may have noticed a distinct lack of return2ozma. This is due to their
admitting, in a public comment, that their engagement here is in bad faith:
[https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/61667ae3-482f-44fa-9b80-374c150c5bae.jpeg] I’m
sure there will be questions, let me see if I can address the most obvious ones:
1) Can I still post negative stuff about Biden? Absolutely! We have zero
interest in running an echo chamber. However, if ALL you’re posting is negative,
you may want to re-think your priorities. You get out of the world what you put
into it and all that. 2) Why now? Presumption of innocence. It may be my own
fault, but I do try to think the best of people, and even though they were
posting negative articles, they weren’t necessarily WRONG. Biden’s poll numbers,
particularly in minority demographics ARE in the shitter. They are starting to
get better, but he still has a hell of a hill to climb. 3) Why a 30 day temp ban
and not a permanent ban? The articles return2ozma shared weren’t bad, faked, or
from some wing-nut bias site like “beforeitsnews.com
[http://beforeitsnews.com]”, they were legitimate articles from established and
respected news agencies, pointing out the valid problems Biden faces. The
problem was ONLY posting the negatives, over and over and then openly admitting
that dishonest enagement is their purpose. Had they all been bullshit articles?
It would not have taken anywhere near this much time to lay the ban and it would
have been permanent. 30 days seems enough time for them to re-think their
strategery and come back to engage honestly. tl;dr -

Continuing with the rise in anger towards wrong think on world, it’s now uncivil to post negative Biden articles.
I wonder if Lemmy.world’s Red Scare will result in more leftists leaving .world, and more Liberals from Reddit replacing them, creating a schism between Lemmy.world and related instances, and Grad/Hexbear/.ml. a sort of Multipolar Lemmy.
ngl i think its kind of unlikely, maybe a few people will but we wont see any real numbers leaving unless something big happens like .world defeds .ml or the instance just breaks and even then i doubt that many people will leave
Looking at it dialectically, I can’t see this cold war lasting forever. Eventually the contradiction will be resolved, some inciting incident will cause it.

I’m curious how long it will take until world just defeds from everyone for that reason
The admins know the userbase will eat itself without outside stimulus
Good point, .ml has been the new target since they can’t see grad or hexbear. They need a boogeyman.
Wonder who they’ll go after next
db0, probably, or lemm.ee. It will continue to be a moving target.
aka the “ol Beehaw”
It’s a shifting target, anyone not in lock-step with Biden is challenged or eventually banned if it seems like people agree with them.
Yes. I was originally on world. I left because of exactly that.
Same, but .ee.

Might even be now, finally.
