Highlights: The new bra in Kim Kardashian’s lingerie range, with its “daring” raised nipple detail, goes on sale on Halloween, but not, I think, because the effect she’s going for is “scary”. The sales pitch is “No matter how hot it is, you will always look cold”, but I’m not sure “cold” is the look she’s really after, either; the word “perky” has also been floated. Kim is offering you the chance to look permanently turned on, by everything. You could be ambling along with nothing on your mind but a knotty Wordle and half a to-do list, and thanks to the Skims perky bra, sprinkle random erotic charge all over everything. Would this make your day better, or worse? Hard to say, but definitely different.

It really bothers me that standard human anatomy is so sexualised like this. Pointy nipples are not a sign you’re turned on.

All this equivalency does is invite harrassment and gross behaviour, there is no upside.

      I was going to say.

Do people think that nipples are like penises, in that regard?

But I suppose any news article like this is supposed to draw people in with sensationalism and, just… really shitty tactics, I guess.

Not even penises are like that (even if the correlation is stronger)

A guy can be hard but not turned on and a guy can be soft while really horny

        It’s not 100% related

What? Kim Kardashian doing something utterly tasteless and trashy? Never.

omg no. I specifically buy bras that do NOT show this. To each their own, but personally it makes me feel so uncomfortable if I notice that’s going on.

I once went to work with no bra after recently getting a tattoo on my back and trying to let it heal. I wore 3 layers, including a thick fleece vest, and you could still see my nipples through it all. Ended up going home and putting a bra on. :|

bras are supposed to hide nipples not add two fake ones

When I was in high school I had a girlfriend who had the brilliant idea to cut a hole in the bra cup so her nipples would be more visible. Didn’t realize she was such a visionary.

Am I barking up the wrong tree here, but isn’t this like, the hypersexualisation of women that I keep hearing about? Being perpetuated by… a woman, who will sell loads of these to her adoring woman fans…

This is very strange to me.

Is that Kim in the picture? If so, she’s completely unrecognizable now. She’s had so much surgery that she looks nothing like her actual self.

In the 80s, I think, someone else marketed a bra exactly like this. I don’t remember it catching on.
