GOP internal discussions: attacks on trans people aren’t attracting new voters, it’s time to scale things back

Polls: voters don’t care about the “trans panic”

Democrats: it’s time to take up the torch and double down on transphobia, and go even further and beyond

The ratchet effect in Amerikkkan politics in action. 🤡

My country hardcoded a right to healthcare into the Constitution and basically underfunded it so much that the only way to get timely medicali treatment is through private for-profit healthcare. It’s not a US exceptionality.

I don’t know what I will do if I can’t get it and if dems swing this way on this there really just might be no hope of being happy, even at peace in my corpse. Fuck all of this. I don’t know what the fuck to do.

Being in my body is a nightmare and I need help getting out. What the fuck to do if dems follow labour.

The Democrats will happily and willingly engage with the worst positions to win except actually moving left, because ultimately they serve imperial interests and only imperial interests. Obama pretended to be left leaning and won everything, an absolute nightmare for the Dems. Their unflinching support for the Zionazi genocide is the clearest example of this. I can’t think of a more clear cut example of controlled opposition.

For the midterms it seems like they should win the Senate but I think the Republicans will still find a way to cuck them like they did with Bush.

This is the liberal position in Iowa and what it takes to get elected there. Once elected, he will be allowed to pander to his transphobic constituents by toeing the Democratic party line and claiming he didn’t want to support trans rights but he had to when they were packaged together with things that his bigots actually wanted.

Do you actually believe the shit you’re saying or are you intentionally trying to manipulate people? No, what will happen is the same that happened with Keir Starmer in the UK. As soon as he gets to power he will ramp up the hatred more and more to distract from his incompetence and falling popularity.

The real solution is: If the liberal position is indistinguishable from the fascist one, then maybe this disgusting ideology should be exterminated

First, the proper equivalent would be if Obama advocated to ban AIDS meds. This piece of shit wants to take away rights that trans people already had for decades, if you didn’t get that.

Second, it wasn’t Obama who did that, it was the Supreme Court that did that, and if I remember correctly, it was Obama who handed it over to Trump to abuse as much as he wants now. Liberals straight-up paved the way for fascism just like the soc-dems did in the Weimar republic.

Third, Obama not giving a single shit about queer people and refusing to install any protections for them made it possible for republicans to immediately go after trans people after Obergefell v. Hodges. You liberals let Trump shit on trans people for over 11 years now without any resistance, and now that this whole moral panic has grown to absurd dimensions, you’re pressuring us to just accept our fate as subhuman garbage.

Your weakness and selfishness is killing us

because of the courts not anything he did

        • The supreme court did it so no Dem ever had to show morals or leadership. The Dems “suddenly seeing the light” and mainstream Dems suddenly being pro gay rights wasn’t after the polling said it was “viable” but being anti-gay rights would lose them votes even again Republicans because they would alienate their own base.

what’s more likely is that this guy would become the next spoiler, always ruining good things because, gosh darn it, we just couldn’t whip the votes.

what it takes to get elected there

or you could actually run for good policies that actually matter. trans people aren’t your landlords, or your boss that forces you to do overtime. demonrats would never do this though.

Liberals like you have never even had the thought that it should not in fact be a requirement to support fascism to get elected somewhere in the first place. You are happily embracing fascist policies rather than questioning your civic religion.

How many months until the Democratic party line is to arrest trans people as undesirables to appease the conservative’s feelings that are evidently more important than trans lives to them?

Absolutely unreal levels of self-delusion to think that you can be considered any less culpable for the violence that the conservatives are inflicting because you do the wrong thing for the “right reason”.

Democrats love ceding arguments to the right and then trying to argue they’re even more for it, convincing absolutely no one but ratcheting the Overton window to the right another notch.

But he might determine which party controls congress. Republicans actively pursue legislation that will make things worse for trans people. Some Democrats throw trans people under the bus in election ads, then don’t actually do anything one way or the other once elected. And other Democrats actively pursue legislation that will help trans people! One party is clearly worse than the other, so vote for Democratic control of congress, please.
