Opposite rulings
NSFWIt’s true tho! They’re on opposite sides, this makes complete sense to me 😭
I was originally gonna type out some of my really freaky fetishes here…but then I realized I should know better. Sorry Lemmy!
Wait what would be the correct answer here? Oral means relating to the mouth, so what’s the opposite of mouth? Do they want nasal? Am I just not Englishing well?
Took me a while too, but then I realised they wanted “written”.
That was my immediate thought (and probably the intended answer), but its just wrong. That is not an “opposite” at all. Its just a different thing entirely.
No, that would be the opposite of verbal.
Oral is not necessarily about talking. As in, you need to take the medication orally.
That’s not actually an opposite though.
I think this is an argument about semantics.
Oral vs written history/tradition.
That’s really oral history vs written history.
Fair, that makes a lot of sense
I think they wanted rectal.
Also possible
It’s anal. I have decided :3
Okay good thx:3
Ok glad im not the only one. I reckon we actually decide its anal
Aural?
The butt hole is the opposite end of pipe with the mouth hole.
My logic exactly :3
Someone doesn’t know what opposites are. (This someone would be the teacher.)
The opposite of closed is open because there’s no third thing something can be, but if there’s multiple states something can be in and they aren’t linearly ordered then that descriptor doesn’t have an opposite. Or at least, no opposite other than the “logical opposite” which would be non-oral, the set of all things which are not oral.
So you’re saying that anal is totally right, right? :3
In the context of the GI tract, yes. In the context of sex, all non-oral sex is equally the “opposite” of oral.
I wonder if the instructor would have accepted “rectal”?
Oh 👀
Oh…
I honestly dont know what the opposite of oral is. Is it written? Tbh anal makes more sense to me. On secomf thought its not written?? Idk im tired lol
Nah, it’s anal :3
Don’t listen to anyone else.I’m assuming written if it’s an assignment?
Nasal or topical for medication?
IDK. This one’s got me stumped too.
What about rectally inserted medication?
Oral/written is for more things. There is stuff like oral tradition as well
Rectal?
It’s fairly clever.
This has to be a fake test lol
Teach really wanted you to write “written,” but as a linguist, that is wrong too. I would have accepted “excreted,” “ejected,” “evacuated,” or “rectal.”
The council has decided, it’s anal :3
I’ll take rectal thoI was gonna make a probably bad pun about ‘rectified’
Then while typing that last sentence and expecting to make a joke about wanting ‘analfied’ to be the new word-
I realised you can diagnose and fix problems with your bum! yay!
Would you have accepted “mute”?
Not in a description of anatomy, no. Maybe on “orate,” but not an adjective.
Generally don’t do that with an account that also revealed your face
Have you been paying attention to ANY of my posts?! LOL
I’m too far gone to feel shame now.
