You’re a 47 year old trained media professional who two days ago was openly beefing with a 20 year old on Twitter by hyperfixating on his header photo
pot calling the kettle black. https://x.com/MujammaHaraket/status/2088515987247149204
I really don’t even know much about Norm, I just saw this video the other day and thought it was funny to share here
totally fair, he’s not wrong here and that screenshot is hilarious
If Mehdi Hasan is a black pot, Finkelstein at his worst would be slightly rusty silverware. The man need not be correct on every detail and his rhetoric has never really had a Palestinian perspective. That’s to be expected, a Muslim Arab, or God forbid an actual Palestinian, couldn’t publicly hold his positions and be only as suppressed.
It’s odd to me that he’s making this point, though. It was he, who was most often telling people that with regard to the Western public, support for Palestinian liberation was damn near dead before October 2023 and normalisation with/of the Zionist entity was at full speed. It’s unfortunate and surprising that he’d refuse to attribute this to the intention of the Palestinians, I would’ve thought him better than this sort of cognitive dissonance.
he’s wrong about trans issues, hes wrong about black issues, he’s wrong about “from the river to the sea”, hes wrong about BDS, he’s right about jewish supremacy and the holocaust industry, he blames “woke academics” and cancel culture for his blackballing rather than zionism, and shouldn’t be treated as an idol where his many failures are hand waved rather than discussed. why he might come to the conclusions he expressed in the clip? why might someone who’s made cogent arguments his whole life engage in “cognitive dissonance”

Opinion | Why I Miss George W. Bush - The New York Times
By Mehdi Hasan
Nov. 30, 2015I read a bit and then scrolled to the end.
Mr. Bush’s foreign policy may have harmed Muslims abroad but
“Leopold II’s policies might have inconvenienced some Congolese abroad but” type shit
Sometimes on Bluesky I see Hasan has posted something about having a 30 minute verbal debate with some racist chud. I’m certain every single time people in the thread tell him stuff like “You gave them a platform so they won the debate,” and he starts muting/blocking because he’ll never learn. Plus he loves the sound of his own voice too much to ever shut up.
He’s also the author of a book call how to win every argument…
Win Every Argument shows how anyone can communicate with confidence, rise above the tit for tats on social media, and triumph in a successful and productive debate in the real world.
