I didn’t know Trotsky was a 2026 .world user! If you don’t believe me, read the following passage regarding the same quote:

He was doing the meme! “If you disagree with me you’re a Kremlin bot”. It’s surprising how much of anticommunism can be traced back to Trotsky.
A few more funny quotes. This following one is not from Trotsky, but if I were Trotsky, it would have made me question my stance:

And for the last one, back to Trotsky, the timing of this one is beautiful. Literally a year before Operation Barbarossa:

You gotta laugh at this last one. Though Trotsky would have somehow blamed the 27 million deaths on “Bonapartist authoritarian dictatorial bureaucratic fascist Stalin”
And this is why he got

Part of me wishes he’d had the pikapika treatment in 1946, when Stalin came out of WW2 as the saviour of Europe. He might have done it himself out of spite tbh
Yeah, but getting killed after pissing off every communist in Mexico is just the perfect send-off for him
He might’ve been in either Orwell or the CIA’s circles by then and would’ve gotten much more dangerous with more resources
Sometimes, I wonder if the pickaxe was too good for him. But then again, it did give us the pikachu pickaxe emoji so
State capitalist bureaucracy bonapartist stalinist

All those terms have sticked for the past 90+ years though, Trotsky was a true visionary in anticommunist “thought”
It’s genuinely shocking the dregs of dreck that got concentrated campaigns of acclaim during the cold war. From Orwell and Arendt to Red China Commie Plot Brainwashing pulp schlock. Sovietologists were getting paid to make shit the fuck up.
You’ve had those conversations with leftists that just say shit that is deeply bad faith or intentionally misread your comments or build up their own strawmen all the time. Well that’s pretty much how Trotsky was all the time from what I have gathered reading about him. The truth basically seemed totally malleable to him and he would say or do anything to achieve whatever goals he had. Utterly unprincipled.
I don’t mean this in a sectarian way either it’s just literally how he always comes across in everything. He was a reasonably important figure and a good organiser especially for the Red Army but he really wasn’t averse to just outright lying or saying shit.
I found out a friend of mine is a trot recently. My reply was ‘that’s…retro.’
Doesnt really affect anything of course, that would be deeply silly. We’re friends cause they’re my best friend’s partner so I wasnt gonna debate my ML position, they already know where I stand anyway. I was just surprised cause they were the first IRL trot under the age of 65 that ive met. They’re well read, so it’s an informed choice, which just strikes me as curious. Doesnt matter anyway, they do great work for kids in a pretty rough neighborhood and our ideological differences really couldnt matter less under the current circumstances l
‘that’s…retrot.’
Missed opportunity there.
I wonder how things would’ve turned out if Trotsky could’ve kept his mouth shut and continued his life as a general of the Red Army.
Trotsky’s secret speech instead of Kruschev?
That or he dies in the war.
Pick your side: left deviation v. right deviation!
Post-Stalin, left deviation would’ve been a better path than right deviation imo
Unfortunately he probably would’ve made the same mistake Kruschev made which was to dilute the party’s ideology by opening it up to broader membership. This was an early Menshevik position back when the party disagreed between being an elite vanguard or trying to have a lot of members, the Mensheviks supported more members and Trotsky was among them.
I believe this is the largest mistake that was made under Kruschev, setting the stage for liberalism to infest it years later.

Trotsky is actually a massively comical figure and the Trotskyist monuments to him are sooooo funny. I’ve been to more than 3 and they have all been full of pictures of him next to Lenin saying it should’ve been him, Lenin wanted it, but that damn Stalin stole the USSR. And I think I’ve said this on this website 4-5 times already but I think it’s very funny that Frida Kahlo banged him with a portrait of Stalin in the room.
Does Frida doing that cuck Trotsky or Stalin more, do we think
“Okay, Mr. Trotsky, I’ve wrapped your order. Here’s the receipt for your food.”

Thank you for the DAIRY but TIPPING is BOURGEOIS
No tip for you, you petit bourgeois PIECE OF SHIT
he was one of the first prominent voices going stalin is literally the same as hitler
i don’t really think it counts as secterianism against commited Trotskyists because i don’t really see Trotskyism as derived from Marxism i think it is a deviation
In Australia they call him Trotsco
In Spain his followers are called “Trotskos”!
⛏️
“even Kerensky is with us guys”

It’s really sad when you realize you’re just reliving past psyops over and over
You didn’t know this?
I generally thought I knew Trotsky’s ardent hatred for the USSR, but I’m surprised of the extent given the final quote. And I definitely didn’t know these extremely memeable quotes
The Stalinist failure of socialism in one country, and failure to ensure a revolution in Germany is what let Hitler come to power. Without it there would never had been the GPW.

If by “the failure of socialism in one country” you mean the first successful socialist experiment in history, the largest and fastest industrial revolution in history up to that point and the only one up until then not built on exploitation and colonialism, the defeat of Nazism and Fascism in Europe and the export of socialism to all of the eastern block, then sure.
I guess the USSR should have just exported revolution to the developed industrial powers of the world before industrializing itself… somehow? /s
I want to have some fun but I’m worried I get blocked…

I’m not a mod but as long as you don’t post false historiography stemming from cold-war propaganda, I don’t think you’d get blocked for that
I was thinking you might block me.

I won’t block you, we have the disengage rule in hexbear for that if I feel things get out of hand. I generally like your comments on this site and I wouldn’t like to miss them. I can’t guarantee the rest of users not piling on if you start bringing trot points to the table though lmao
OK Stalinist.

I prefer Marxist-Leninist, but whatever floats your boat, comrade!
Though, considering it… While that would be an easy way of doing it. Trotsky might just have come with a more novel way of blaming Stalin.

The problem is that USSR turned to ‘socialism in one country’ after multiple failures to export revolution. It was a tactical decision to switch to defensive position and build up the base until an opportunity presents itself.
Yes I know I was replying to the post.
