Like goddamn what a racist and comically propagandist piece of media.

“ISIS terror plot uncovered by FBI. Wants to shoot up a mall because it’s owned by Jews. Somalian teenager with Muslim-sounding name.”

I had to laugh at how surreal this “reporting” was couldn’t believe my ears. I don’t understand how you could watch this and think you’re being informed and not think this is absurdly racist but apparently my dad (who is POC) still does. Just mindbending stuff.

It’s sad but older gen still trust mainstream media. It’s a phenomenon everywhere. I always struggle with my dad because he believes the media framing on many issues, making it impossible to change his mind.

      My experience exactly.

A lifetime of passively consuming mainstream narrative has created a calcified, impenetrable layer overtop their brains.

I’ve just had to give up trying.

Don’t get me wrong I still state my opinions very plainly, I just no longer bother trying to convince them that I am right lol.

The worst is when, after much effort, you get them to agree with you and then you think you’ve made some progress. Only to talk to them again a few days later and their brain has been reset completely and they have no recollection of your argument beyond that it happened.

I’ve just had to give up trying.

The only way to maintain sanity
