So you got through character creation in each game?
Happy Birthday!
Thank you!
I love that for Morrowind even the guide is called The Morrowind Prophecies. Everything about Morrowind was made with care and an attempt to make the world feel real. The later games can be fun, but none of them do this to the same degree.
Also, in my experience, Linux is much better at handling legacy titles than Windows is at this point. It’s weird, but one more advantage for Linux!
Yeah I was expecting to have to fiddle with Morrowind, but it worked out the box, and even cloud saves worked.
Are you just playing Morrowind as it was, or are you using OpenMW?

Just as it was. I was trying to play it in an xp vm but virtual box dropped 3d acceleration support for xp a while ago. So I’m stuck with games like the sims, sim city 3000 on my. 2002 larp machine

I’m kinda into doing things the old way. The old internet, mp3 player, etc
This is seriously awesome (✷‿✷)
Yeah I love what I call my 2002 LARP VM. lol what has been amazing, is the ability to find old installers of old versions of programs and the original isos of games on Internet archive and other places. It’s such a resource.
I now deeply desire a 2002 LARP VM. I got my own computer around 2001/2002 so it’ll be a huge nostalgic trip for me ಥ‿ಥ
Highly recommend. Let me know if you do. I have links to most of the software still
Oh yeah, all the software on the xp vm is period correct releases. No versions past 2002. Including Winamp. Just the browser is a current and safe alternative web browser
XP had a fair number of years before Vista came out, you could even get up to 2005 and still be period accurate
Nice.
wealth beyond measure, outlander.
Happy birthday to you! 🎂
Thank you!
Happy birthday, and sick mouse
Thank you! And I got it at goodwill for $5. It’s in amazing shape.
Professional 🤓👍
+1 for physical strategy guides! I’ve started collecting them, since most of them are pretty cheap these days (some are like $80+ though). It’s nice to be able to unhook oneself from the Internet and be able to enjoy games completely offline again, and these guides help complete that notion.
Happy birthday!
Those are some thick game guides, I kinda miss seeing those around
We started collecting them for OG Xbox and it’s great. They are a cool thing to hunt for that hasn’t gone outrageous in pricing.
Which is your favourite?
Edit: And why is it Morrowind?
I have been playing OpenMW with Tamriel Rebuilt for the past couple of months and I don’t think I will be able to finish it in my lifetime. It’s wonderful.
I try to play those games but then end up spending a few days just sorting mods and trying to get them all to work together, it’s stressful but also satisfying when it actually works then i play for 200 hours and reach a specific point and the game keeps crashing…
What distro are you running?
EndeavorOS with an LTS kernel and themed like windows xp.
that is a birthday well spent. happy birthday.
Happy Birthday!
Thank you!
Happy birthday that looks sick! Love the mouse and headphones
Thanks. I love the mouse. The headphones look cool and feel comfortable. But they do sound horrible because they are mono educational headphones from the late 90s. I have to run a program that turns my stereo sound into mono
What program do you use? Could be handy for me, being deaf in one ear…
