Man in the 70s and 80s, especially at things like concerts and sporting events, they would just give men a long trough that continuously sprayed a little water. I guess my extended family was poor, I have never experienced this. And I’m not quite that old, grew up in the 70s. The most I got for allowance was .0.25/week but there were a ton of weeks where it was zero.

How is it “overriding my freedom of expression”? Both parties can express themselves however they want, that’s the point of the first Amendment.

I don’t completely agree with all of your sentiment but I agree that individuals filming is far less of an issue than government and corporate surveillance. If we want to stop surveillance we don’t like, let’s remove all government and corporate surveillance first.

Yes Europe’s laws on this are very different. Europens in the US often get upset when someone is filming on the street and haven’t asked anyone for consent. Sometimes they throw a fit about it - threaten violence, or call the police. But it’s perfectly legal and they can publish it even if you specifically say you don’t give consent. A lot of that content ends up getting tons of views, so people going up to the camera to say I don’t want to be on camera is kind of a running joke in the first amendment community. If they had just ignored the camera no one would have ever seen video of them.

If hardware were cheap it might have gone a little better. Like I would love to build a new beast gaming rig (dual boot Linux and W11) but component prices are stupid and my W10 rig is perfectly fine.

Yeah, despite their low sales I see them constantly. But I live in a really conservative area where most people think Musk isn’t far enough to the right. I travel through a lot of rural areas all over the country and I think more rednecks would buy them but it isn’t as reliable as a twenty year old diesel truck. Now that they’re selling much cheaper than at the beginning they seem to be trickling out.

The Bronco had massive failures as soon as people started getting their hands on them. Sales went crazy at first but then crashed through the floor. There’s a Ford dealer across from my work that has like 85 of them on the lot and they barely sell now.

I don’t know, when you’re living in Minnesota and it was -40 a couple of weeks ago and it suddenly hits 30F, everyone is in shorts and T-shirts, it feels warm. And if you’re in Florida and it hits 30F ever, it feels cold. It’s definitely subjective. But it remains true that the US southwest has the record for the hottest weather recorded on earth, so far. That is objective.

I’m very similar. I have even lived in Europe a couple of times. But I don’t even try to think in Celsius anymore, I just don’t see a benefit and my brain rejects it. 90% of the time when I’m boiling water it’s high up on a mountain and it boils below 100C in elevation. Also who cares if the water is 95C or 200F, it’s not as hot as I’d like it to be.

The hottest temperature recorded was 56.7C and that was in the US back in 1913. So yeah 50 is hot. 40 is hot. 35 with high humidity is hot. 60 is almost food safe.

Eh, I have lived with both Celsius and Fahrenheit and I far prefer Fahrenheit.

30F isn’t even cold. Maybe -30F.
